Salt in an open wound

Damn, can guys not think before they talk? I'm talking to an ex, and he starts telling me about how he really likes this girl. That she is all he can think about. Ok, it's not been that long since this boy became an ex, and I still have a few issues. Well, today, he starts telling me about how expensive his weekend is going to be. He's taking some girl out to dinner Friday night, and he's just going to spend a lot of money on it, blah blah blah. Is he purposely trying to hurt me, or is he just that much of an idiot that he can't honestly see that I don't want to talk about his new love interests? We are going to stay close friends, but I am not ready to hear about how well he has moved on.

You cannot end a relationship, stay close friends, and not expect to hear about his life.

Cut ties with him, he sounds like a sack of rotting fecal matter.

Then burn him.

With oil.

And a blowtorch.

Shove tubes through his circulatory system and pump gas through them. Then throw him into a bonfire.

Celebrate with absinthe.

Like I said, I still have a few issues where he is concerned. Maybe some left over feelings. We both ended the relationship. It's not like either of us was dumped. Actually, I think I pushed for the end of it a bit more than he did.

And thanks SG, it's always an idea if all else fails. lol

Hey PHATchik, since I dont know the guy its possible that it could either be one of two things.

1) He IS trying to hurt you by bringing up new relationships/dates.

2) He is actually trying to be your friend and telling you things friends would normally tell each other.

If you want to continue to be friends (I encourage it because of the enormous amount of time put in to relationships and you already know each other well) then maybe you could possibly tell him that you arent ready to talk about each others dating lives yet. If he cant handle that simple request from you, as a friend, then you might be better off without him. Hope this helps some.

When he started telling me how this girl was all he could think about, he knew it upset me. He refused to talk about her a day or two after that. Then today though, he started this stuff again. I always get extremely quiet when he talks about them. I'm also always really ready to end the conversation which I am not sure he has noticed yet.

This has to be in order to keep a strong friendship, I think you know this

I'm with dasgh, I think he's trying to make you jealous. Most people with half a brain know not to talk about that shit with an ex so soon after breaking up.

How long has it been since you broke up? Because I think that everyone needs some time away after a breakup, even if they plan on being friends afterwards.

id bet the money in my wallet (well no money in there just a gum wrapper and a condom that expired 5 years ago :D) that you broke up with him

correct?

this is clearly his way of trying to hurt you/save face, and possibly salvage the relationship by having you throw yourself at him. had it done to me.

solution: throw out current wardrobe, buy 1 thong to replace it and fly over to my side of the pond :D

I was the one that put the final nail in the coffin. But it was a mutual thing. The relationship had some things stacked against it. Like I said, I didn't dump him. He didn't dump me. It was basically a mutual thing.

PC-

I am going through the same thing. My ex has been calling me bc she wants to move back in but I don't want her to. So now she is saying she is going to go fuck a bunch of guys bc I deserve that. Fuck that. I don't care what she does, it's over. If she wanted to be with me, then she should have thought about that shit before she fucked my best friend

Sorry to hear about your situation chief!!!! I can imagine your pain.

"only if you have been in the deepest darkest valley; you can truely know what it means to be on the highest brightest peak."

I'm sorry to hear that Jim. My situation isn't quite as messy as yours. I don't know if I would call him a jerk. I have. That first night he upset me, I called him quite a few things. lol

I agree. Some guys don't think before they talk. Some are just insensitive. ALthough, there is a big, huge, major difference in if they mean to be that way or not. That is what plays the biggest factor with me. I might get upset or pissed or something even if it is accidental. I might even sign off on AIM without really talking it out. (Yes, I know. A shitty thing to do. ) However, there is still the fact that it was unintentional.

If you do it on accident, then I would be a pretty bad person not to accept your apology. Luckily, I am not that childish.
