He was hired for the shock value and controversy that he would bring to the show. They got what they paid for, and like most people who are hired for reasons like that, he stepped into a pile of shit all on his own. People can blame the liberal media and other people if they want to, but all Rush has to do is look into the mirror to find who is to blame.

He's not man enough to admit he was wrong & apologize. He'd rather quit and go back to his audience, who are too stupid to question or challenge his simple-minded views.
Im glad though. I muted the TV everytime he'd chime in with his lack-of-football-knowledge commentary. You could tell that Boom, Steve, Mike, and Tom didn't like him too, in my opinion.
Dennis Miller would have been a better choice. Opinionated. Controversial. Intelligent. Knows alot about football, but more than that...doesn't take himself so damn seriously.
