The Big man takes the title by less than 1% of the overall vote!He is one hell of an amazing vocalist with a bright future ahead of him.He will be quite successful as an artist.

rigged....

i refused to watch this on the grounds that more people voted for american idol than in the last election

he's a good singer and grats to him, but yeah i doo feel it was rigged for him to take it against the other guy. And yes I feel that it's because his skin color makes him more marketable at this point in time. I don't see how right now a skrawny white guy can be hip.

We agree on the matrix and american idol.

Cool!

He's destined for fame and fortune beyond his wildest imagination. I mean look at Kelly Clarkson...she practically owns all of Hollywood now and has a music and movie career that makes J-Lo look like nothing. Has she even released an album yet?

I think the majority of MTV's Real World ex cast members end up better off career-wise.

LOL,obviously none of you folks have even watched the show.Kelly has already sold 1.3 million copies of her first album and it was just released a few weeks ago.I can't believe some of you folks can't look past the racial boundaries and see talent for what it is.

The margin was so close --as close as the presidential elections--and I think a recount is warranted. The white skinny guy was better in my view but he lacked charisma despite being the better voice..

Justover 1,000 votes was the margin. The black dude looks very similar with one of the most famous opera singer Luciano Pavarotti and he seems to be a hotter commodity and more marketable than the white, skinny dude..THose who think that wasnt rigged have tunnel vision and cannot see the forest for the tree. Politics!

I was glad that the big guy won. Both of them were excellent singers though. I wonder if they are sick & tired of singing songs by now....cause I know I would be. I mean, how many weeks did that go on for this time?

Hey, doesn't Clay remind you of Opie?

To me, on a consistent basis, Clay blows Rueben away vocally.

BTW, did anyone notice how gay the guy was that was the host of the gathering in Raleigh? LOL

No doubt, bro!!! It was obvious it was close, they basically tied, the decision wasn't racially motivated. I'm sure Clay will have a lot of success, though where's Justin and Tamira (sp?) from last year? I can't believe their CDs aren't out yet....

Anyway, Ru deserved to win!

He is a great singer and carries himself very well.

He actually has star characteristics. That is what helped him win.

Yeah, but overall, Clay had the BETTER RANGE OF VOCALS.....he could do the Broadway thing, the Pop thing, etc....Ruben was ONE-DEMENSIONAL. Furthermore, notice how much Reuben sweat like a pig, and became severely out of breath, near the end of any song that had an up-tempo beat? Unless he sings ballads all the time, Reuben will not be able to properly sing songs because he always get out of breath. However, I think that he is still a great vocalist, and ranks right up there with Clay---but Clay was slightly better.

yep:bouncer:

Does it matter who won? Both get record contracts, and all the other losers will tour. The fat one is going to stroke out if he has to do a whole concert.

Actualy the votes were way off last night they fucked up. today on the today show ryan seamencrest said it as 130,000 votes difference (I cant believe i actualy know this shit)

Actually... last nite she got a Platium record from her new CD selling over 1.3 million copies & entering the charts at #1.

IN YO' FACE!!!

Clay, while being a great singer, has very little charisma or pop potential. I mean WTF will his CD be like?? He cant do R&B cuz he is waaaaay too white. His forte is show tunes and who the hell buys CDs of show tunes.
Clay made it that far cuz he has talent, but its a talent that is not commercial.

That sort f pisses me off that she can just go and sell that many CD's just because of the hype surrounding her and the show.

I'll guarantee theres like 5000 unknown artists out there that may be 2-3 times more talented and "better" than Miss Clarckson, but of course, no one cares about them because the average Joe and Jane don't have the media telling them that these artists are good and you want to listen to them. I know it takes advertising to get noticed, but that's not really what I'm saying..What I mean is, I don;t think Clarckson would have sold that many copies if she was already known by many, but didn't have the glitz and glam of the American Idol show pushing her. The word "sheep" comes to mind.

Damn! Some of yall cry like bitches. Just hatin. What does race have to do with it? Personally I liked both of them & would have been fine if Clay won. Had Clay won I wouldn't play the race card. They both can sing their asses off - period

I really cant imagine how a this could be rigged. Was the last American Idol rigged as well? Clay definitey is more marketable to mainstream American teens, which is the market their targeting. He's ok looking, good personality, & perhaps he could become a hear throb to young girls.

I dont think the same holds true for Rubin. I just dont see girl hanging pics of Rubin on their wall. Has anyone of his stature accomplished this? Rigged? I dont see how a record company could benefit by having Rubin as their poster boy for all girls to fantacize about & for young boys to envy & idolize him.

Get over it yall. Clay will still do well with his career. I wish them all the best.

that reminds me of an episode of the howard stern show they had Simon on there and asked him to judge a guy that was going to sing for them. After the dude was finished Simon didn't give a very favorable review.

It turns out the dude was a lead singer for some band that has a platinum record.

Of course. Great example. Music and movies are mostly popular b/c of the advertising behind it.

Very true.....being a star and having talent are two different things altogether

As heard on a black radio station....

There was a big uproar from the so called "Black Community" after the 1st american idol that they had to have a black guy win. Al Sharpton would be in heaven if another white person won.
