Michael Mann spoke for about 10 minutes prior to the flick. Seemed like a legit guy...but then again he is one of the best filmmakers working today.

Movie was great stuff. Ive never been the worlds biggest Depp fan, but I thought he really pulled it off, especially in the second half of the movie, particularly in 2-3 scenes with absolutely no dialogue. Bale played Bale, but at the same time he wasnt given a whole lot to do except look determined. A shootout that comes close to rivaling the one in Heat.

Also, another good aspect was that the movie was very true to life, ie there was really only one blaque character and he was an inmate. Probably a violent/repeat offender.

He seemed legit, is that right? Not like a circus freak, carnival barker, clown car driver, or used tampon salesman?

Who knew. Good for you, Michael Mann.

Legit = good bor

love johnny depp. he is the only actor in all of hollywood who could play in the next batman movie and make us not realize that heath ledger is not here. chris nolan better put depp in the next flick. if he decides to do catwoman, the franchise is fucked.
