Why does it take certain people a lot for them to respect someone? Is it because they expect a lot since they worked hard to become the great person he/she is?

I am nice to people in general because drama isn't fun. But I sure as hell don't just randomly respect people most of the time. People have to earn it and to be honest, most people are not worthy.

There's a tiny list of people in my life who I truly truly respect, who's opinions actually matter to me. I'd do anything for those people.
