This board is home to many a heated religious discussion. This is understandable being that religion is something that some hold very dear, and something that others totally admonish. But no matter what religion we are or aren't, and no matter how we think the universe was created, don't we at least owe each other a certain amount of respect?
Isn't respect a universal institution that is understood by leftists, rightists, christians, atheists, blacks, and whites?
I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but I propose that this board would be a much more interesting place if we could learn to respectfully disagree, and even further agree to disagree. It is my experience that a forum that encourages opinions from every corner and then subjects these opinions to healthy discourse is a successful forum - one that fosters thought, tolerance, and intelligence.
If we demand respect of each other we might all reach a clearer understanding of the way things are out there.
