I finally got a chance to see Tomb Raider on tape last night.

Angelli Jolie was a tight little hottie all through out the flic..
Apparently doing a lot of her own stunts..

Must have been the lip injections that helped..

I think it could have been a lot more nifty than it was. For something brainless it was kind of fun to watch but when I leave a movie not remembering the main characters' names....it's usually an indication that it's not too great. I also didn't give a damn if the characters died.

It made no sense. I love crappy sci-fi movies but hate the ones so totally illogical you can't help but nitpick all the way through the motherfucker. I won't go into details in case it spoils it for anyone.

The dragons were cool though.

My attack on Braveheart was mostly a joke. I did enjoy it but do think it's overrated and do think Mel Gibson playing a 20 yearold looked like Senator Ted Kennedy dressed up as Jon Bon Jovi.

I confess though I'm one of those people who notices how no-one ever closes the front door behind them when they leave the house in movies and shit like that.

I had a whole list of things about Reign of Fire that just made no sense, but I don't want to be a spoiler. It's not THAT bad.

This is why I didn't pay attention in my critical thinking class. I don't know how you can enjoy a movie when you're analyzing it so much

Took to long to tell a really simple plot.
Matthew Mc. was surprisingly believable in that role.
Other than that, it seemed like a saturday afternoon cable flick with a large budget.
It felt like a 1:50 short film.

WHat really bothers me is the whole blockbuster trend. You get explosive scenes that bring you 'up' throughout the movie and then you come crashing down because the plot is 'gassed'.
You get so amped up on the intense action scenes and visual imagery that you're almost watching the movie in slow-mo to get all the info. Then the movie abruptly ends.

Not much depth. I think to pull off a really impressive blockbuster you need more time on the screen. But that's a catch-22.
