reducing the pain of injections

Most of you probably already know this, but for newbies and others it might help. If I change to a new needle b4 the injection, I hardly have any pain at all. Even with 1ml vials if that needle touches anything, bottom of the vial, side, it will dull the hell out of it.

i see too many people using 23g or bigger to inject. why? there's no reason 25g or smaller won't work (assuming the volume of the syringe is the appropriate size to compensate for the pressure)

I do not know what the problem is, I use a 23 and it does not bother me!:p

23s don't bother me either, but the bigger the needle the more scar tissue. if injecting is gonna be a habit for years to come 23s will bother you more than 25s

Afraid of a little bigger needle? I use 22 and 23 ga. for glutes. I refuse to stand there for 5 minutes pushing the syringe with a 25 ga. I start to get a cramp in my side after a while. I can't turn around like that anymore. Must be getting too big :FRlol:

And I never use the same pin to inject that I used to draw up the gear. I want that pin fresh! :D

I agree the rubber stopper alone is much harsher in tip than skin is. I also let a drop of oil lube pin before hand and removing pin and warming oil in syringe in microwave for about 15 secs help thin fluids and go in much easier.

Itsw hard to tell how easy you can blunt tip of needle by hitting sheath of cover. If you look under a mircrospe at tip you would see it bent and tears muscle up if eveb slightly hit tip before injects.

Good point about the warming up. When I open a syringe I jut barely open the top of it, draw up my gear, put it back into the wrapper and run it under hot water.

Excellent point about the micro trauma you can cause to the needle just by the sheath. I've noticed that with insulin pins.

the bd 25g seem to get real dull after going through two rubber stoppers (found this out the hard way)... i had to push HARD to get that fucker in... now i use new needle...

I thought everyone new this, I guess not.
All my site injections I use 25G 1" and for my sweet ass I use 22G 1.5" and always draw with a 22G and switch my pin to a new one every time for ease and painless ED injects.
