Recent Pic of a Not So Recent Tattoo

I got the outline done right after I got back from Vegas last year but I have had NO time to get it filled in.

I'm gonna try and get it finished up before I head down to Arizona.

My original idea was to just get it filled in all black like normal tribal, but now, I've seen a couple similar style tribal tats that are olored in a realdep, bright green.

I thought maybe I could mix the green and black in different areas rather than just one or the other.

Also, I have been watching Inked and Miami Ink and there are some cool tribal designs with shadowing and stuff.

Any suggestions?

That's bad ass bro, I like it. I'm wanting to get one on my upper back, probably not quite that large though because.......because it fucking hurts thats why!

LOL! thanks bro. It originally wasn't supposed to be that big, it was just supposet to go across the yop of my back from shoulder to shoulder. But by the time she got done with the design, that;s what i ended up with.''

Can't wait to get it finished!

You gotta post some pics when you get it finished, how long do you think it will take to get it all filled in?

I think having it with the color would be cool. =-) Could you put lots of differnt colors swirling about, like orange red green and black. I think that would be cool.

If you get alot of color, wear a t-shirt. The last thing you want it to get some nice bright color and then put the arizona sun on it.

stick is mess around with it in a good photo editing program and see what you can come up with. personally I think the dark green and shading would be sharp as a tack, but it can go real bad if you got a shitty artist

Ya know, that's what got me thinkin'. We have a couple real good artists up here but like I said, watching Miami Ink and Inked, those guys are turning out some sick ass designs! We have one guy up here named Vinnie. He owns Rebirth Tattoo and has been in numerous magazines. I would go to him, but unfortunately, none of these guys up here will finish another local artists work.
Maybe I should just wait until I get down to the states?

IMO, stick .... stay with the tribal black, its the design and I can't see it looking any better with color... besides any other color will fade like crazy. I've got two tats and both are in tribal and neither of them have faded in the last 8+ years. I can't stand the normal 'black' that turns that greenish color, and the other colors fade so easily too. Looks like the tat was designed to be done tribal, so I'd stick with the design.

sure and also the thickness and the quality of the ink has alot to do with it. I have mine in red and tribal, neither has faded at all, but the red was a high quality ink and I made sure I stressed that I didn't want it to fade. I've seen quite a few that are horrible looking after a few years due to sun exposure etc...

I think he still should stick with the org design intent and keep it tribal ;)

Alot of whether a tat fades or not depends yes on color, but also on the quality of the ink and the depth of the tat. All of mine have faded a touch but there has been no differentiation (is that a word? lol) bwtween the different colors. I have red, black, neon green, and tiel blue and one has not faded any more than another and mine are over 13 years old.

I think the only time those things really have an effect is if you expose the fresh tat to those things. I usually wait a good 8-12 weeks before any excessive exposure. I believe that's why mine still look good after 13 years.
