He's a little outside of reality with the argument he was trying to make.75th said:That little pussy at the end was a douche.
And he decided to not answer a direct question, instead using it as an opportunity to talk about bullshit nobody cares about.javaguru said:He's a little outside of reality with the argument he was trying to make.
Yes, trying to make a talking point out of a non-issue.75th said:And he decided to not answer a direct question, instead using it as an opportunity to talk about bullshit nobody cares about.
No wonder hes broke.
I think he's hilarious and I disagree with him on a lot of things.mrplunkey said:Failed comedian.
Failed actor.
Failed talk show host.
I can like almost any comedian too... I even think the liberal ones are usually hilarious. But this guy just isn't funny to me.
He seems overly venomous, cynical and pseudo-intellectual.javaguru said:I think he's hilarious and I disagree with him on a lot of things.
Sarcasm is his humor, some like it and others don't. He does have an exceptional dislike for Bush but overall I don't think it rises to the level of venomous.mrplunkey said:He seems overly venomous, cynical and pseudo-intellectual.
For example, I'm conservative but I really like the daily show. It's no discovery that John Stewart is super-liberal, but he's funny too. Now imagine John with 25% of his material... mean and venomnous... with a lot less talent. To me that's what Mahr seems like.
His parody of the telephone commercial add and Hillary's own words about how she reacted to her self-described biggest crisis cracked me up. It was a bit unfair but the self-pwnage was awesome.Longhorn85 said:I have always enjoyed Bill Maher's humor (I subscribe to his podcasts), I think he is incredibly smart and funny, even if he is ridiculously liberal without admitting it.
Three take-aways for me after viewing the first clip:
1) Obviously a tremendously liberal audience (smattering of applause for McCain's nom), yet there were boos when Maher bashed Bush on the war in Iraq. This confirms my belief that Americans in general support our war effort.
2) This is the first time I have seen Terry McCauliffe on TV. He makes me sick to my stomach and he was all over the tube during the Kerry campaign. I guess they are keeping him off screen as much as possible.
3) How did the diminutive Maher find only people shorter than himself to interview?
She was the one that aired the ad about handling a crisis and in her own words that was her biggest crisis. I would consider the takeover of Pakistan by Islamic fundamentalists a bigger crisis than being cheated on.walliwalibus said:Personally I thought it was shitty..... Like he has never cried before LOL............ his show sucks now. I find no humor in him, maybe in his guests i do, but in him actually no. If it weren't for his guests i think he'd be a done cooked pup. Hey! Did i just bring up the dog issue again .....
I prefer my politics with satire.jackangel said:i enjoy watching it. he himself isn't usually that funny, but i like the fact that there's a show like that somewhere on TV. sames goes for the daily show (i prefer stewart to maher, even though i don't catch the daily show much at all anymore), colbert report, etc.
