Rammstein is metal trying to be Industrial; doesn't work.
Compare them to Front Line Assembly, Skinny Puppy, PIG, KMFDM and then come back to me.

well homeslice I'm going to disagree with you about Ministry and NIN, and I really dig metal sounding industrial, almost more than "dance" industrial. I also do like FLA, Front 242, PIG and of course KMFDM, never got much into Skinny Puppy though. So all of this seems to be a matter of opinion and not a matter of fact. NIN may not be 100% industrial, but it is very industrial-laden. Especially that last double cd they (or he to be correct) had, whatever it was called. The Wretched, or the Something. Can't recall.
But yeah Ministry was great. I agree Psalm 69 was their best album, but they had some good stuff after that as well.

That said, NIN is not Industrial.......perhaps Trent's first album was.....but everything thereafter was rock.
Rammstein is not Industrial.....if every band who used a synthesizer was labeled Industrial, we wouldn't be able to distinguish Covenant from Justin Timberflake......

Just trying to get a reaction. Now that they´re famous they´re doing a kind of "get high on life"- violent message
I love their energy. It think they´re gonna have to change soon though. their field is so limited so far that they´ve almost completely covered it. I believe they even announced a break since they need to think over what to do next and can´t write songs on the same path anymore.
They´re NOT nazis- in fact they are rather left wing and work in an alliance named "rock against the right"
they deny being gay. although I think they´re dropping hints of such left and right. If they are gay, or more of them than chance would allow are, it would actually increase my respect for gays. The thing is they have a few songs about gays, though they are written as looking at them, not being them. none of their members has also ever been photographed with a girl. Despite Till, the lead singer, being very popular, hes never been spotted with a woman. Maybe they´re all just married and their wives dont want to be known. I dont know. Till´s first band was called "First Arsch" - Ceiling Ass.
