OK, I know this will get moved, but, i just need a quick answer and this is the best forum for it..although i know theres no quick true answer for questions like these, because it usually is matter of opinion and turns into shouting matches..ok..anyway..

Can you lose fat while just eating under your daily bmr?

People say you cant lose fat unless you do cardio. Well, what do you lose if you just eat less?

ALSO: Is there a point to training with low reps to induce hyperplasia, growth of brand new muscle fibers, while eating under your daily bmr? You can't grow new muscle without eating above that right? Is there even a point to training in the high rep range while eating under your daily bmr, to induce hypertrophy, the splitting of the cell walls that you already have? Can that even happen if you're eating under your bmr? Is there a point to even lifting at all, except for keeping your cns on the ball, when you're eating below your bmr?

No. I Yes and
No. II. You cant suck and blow at the same time.

Isn't the bmr the number of calories required to "live" in other words? So if you eat under the bmr, you HAVE to lose something (fat or muscle mass).

BMR - the # of calories your body burns while at rest.

3500 calories ~ 1 pound.

See I know what bmr means and all that, but what really is bugging me is the whole point of lifting at all to provide any sort of muscle development in any area while eating under bmr. I know people do it, but are they doing it just to keep the tact, knowing that theyre not going to be doing anything for their muscles because they're not eating enough for anything at all to happen, or am I missing something?

And yes, i asked about the losing fat while eating under your bmr because some people say you cannot lose fat just by doing that, you can only do it by doing cardio. Well, what the hell do you lose then if you just diet and do no exercise? Muscle and fat right? Same thing you lose while doing cardio while dieting right? So what's the difference? I just need to find for myself if there is one or not. 3500 calories is 3500 calories either way, wether it be through dieting or cardio, right?

I lift while eating under bmr in thinking (I don't know if I'm right however) that if the muscle is being used, your body won't think "oh this muscle is unnessessary" and start using that muscle as fuel.
