Question on how to play DVD movies

So I have these movies, the file extensions are like this

.r00
.r01
.r01
etc

how do I play these? do they need to be unzipped and put together somehow?

Install winrar and click on either the .rar file or in some cases the .r01. It'll open up a winrar window, then you just extract it to whatever directory you choose.
