Question on heart rate.

Bro's, I need as much input as possible. I've been on winny for about two in the half weeks, 50mg eod. Latley my heart has been beating pretty hard, and it seems as I am putting alot of stress on it. I do not feel any chest pains what so ever, just hard beating and it sometimes feels a little funny. I had my blood pressure tested a few days ago when I was at the doctors, and it was good. I'm not sure if this is normal. Somebody told me to set a timer for 90 seconds, and count my pulse beat. So I put my hand on my neck to count my pulse beats, and in 90 seconds it went 122 times. I dont know if this means anything or if the kid who told me this didn't know what he was talking about. Please help me out though, Im getting kind of scared. Also, if that kid wasn't right on how to check heart rate, some body please tell me what I have to do. Thanks bro's please give me as much input as possible.

Dude, your heart rate is measured by 60 second increments and if I diivide the number you gave by 3 then multiply by 2 your heart rate was 80 bpm, which is not bad. Anything greater than 100 is bad.

If your bp was fine you probably have no worries. You are also probably worsening the condition just through psychosomatic effects.

bkellyms........

i find 80 is rather high.

under 60 is where you wanna be. preferably under 50 though.

mine is 48-52.

It's unclear if you were at rest or what..but 80 is not bad on AS. That is about where mine is right now.

Eh...mine's around 60...80's too bad. When did you take this measurement? Did you eat or workout before you took your HR? There are many things that can effect your HR, take it a few more times and see what you get. Try right before bed. If you're really worried about it, just stop the winny. If it persists, ask your doc.

you really need to know what your resting HR is when you're not on gear to know if 80 is too high or not.

If you normal resting HR is 72, then 80 isn't too bad; if your normal is 50-60, then that is a BIG change....

Just checked it again. It was at exactly 80 in a minute. I havn't worked out at all today other than about an hour ago, I did 50 pushups. I just ate before I checked it. I appreciate the help. I guess I'm ok to continue.

ACSM guidelines and medical journals state less than 100 is okay? depending on age activity level, etc. If you resting is under 50 bpm you must be a cardio athlete or have freaky genetics. Mine is under 50 most of the time and in the lower 40's when waking up.

From medline:

For resting heart rate:
newborn infants; 100 to 160 beats per minute
children 1 to 10 years; 70 to 120 beats per minute
children over 10 and adults; 60 to 100 beats per minute
well-trained athletes; 40 to 60 beats per minute
