Bottom line: Early Modern Afro-American black history (15th-19th century) was shaped by European racist sentiment which feuled colionial rule, and the ensuing slave trade.

Colionialism and the slave trade dictated the shape of black culture and denyed blacks the right to write their own history.

Great black leaders like Dr King, Malcolm X, and Nelson Mandella (all I know) were all a product of oppressive enviroments whose genisis was in European racist ideologies that targeted the black. Not to say they couldnt have been great leaders, but the sad part is, modern black history was shaped in a large part by European colionialism and racist ideologies.

I think Americas racial segragation and the Aparteid should be taught in school, since this was the whole purpose of the work of Dr King, Malcolm X, and Nelson Mandella.

Other than that, I know nothing of early black history.

Yes, there are marcopolitical factors beyond the control of the majority of blacks, which influence their socioeconomic status, which influences their culture, and consequently, what they rap about. I dont know. Its not an easy situation. Although Blacks have been victimized in the past, they cant keep playing the victim card because victimization denys self empowerment, which allows people to change their situation.
