Question for the LEOs

I dont think many would take it as an insult..I know a good amount of cops and when someone asks them what they do, they almost always say "im a cop" not "im a law enforcement officer"

"cops" is cool with most...no problem there...if a Cop says, "Im a Police Officer!!"...you might have a problem....CHP is famous for that, their very anal about everything, the most uptight little pricks....I have met some very cool CHiPs and some are friends, but its not the majority....

Obviously I'm not going to call someone a "Law Enforcement Officer" but maybe Policeman if cop is not appropriate.

Stop getting pulled over and you won't have to worry about calling them anything.

And Cop is not inappropriate. I believe it's an acronym from England for Constable On Patrol.

The word "COP" comes from the early 1900's when NYC officers had to sign a registry everytime they went on patrol. Next to their name they would put "c.o.p." which meant "constable on patrol". So no, I dont see why this would be an insult.

Id think saying
"I smell bacon"
when a cop has you pulled over giving you a ticket would get you bet with a stick
