Question for mechanical engineer types.....

I had 2" wheels on a 24x18x6 Halliburton suitcase. Unless the floor was perfect, it would usually fall over when rolling.

I found some 4" wheels and noticed that the wheels would collide if I tried to fully open the suitcase. So I am mounting them in an offset manner and am done with the front two.

I have a suspicion that the offset mounting will create problems with rolling however.

By offset, I mean that one wheel is mounted 4 inches behind its counterpart so that the case can fully open.

Thanks in advance.

whichever side has a shorter distance b/w wheels will be prone to falling over. if you staggered them equally on both sides, then depending on the offset, it will compromise turnability in one direction
