question for ex-coffee drinkers

I've been a caffeine fiend for years, I just quit drinking coffee two weeks ago. The first week was horrible, full of headaches, short patience, loss of focus and over all zombiness. The second week started out better, the headaches were gone and only mild zombinees but over the last two days or so I've felt totally drained, lethargic, just completely out of energies. Right now, for instance, I felt out of breath and exhausted just walking up the stairs, I usually run up those motherfuckers, it alsmot feels like when you have a flue and you just want to lay down and rest, except I don't have any of the other symptoms. Is this normal post coffee or is this a totally separate problem?

hmmm i never was totally hooked on coffee so Im not gonna be too much help im afraid.

yeah man, do some cardio, strengthen your heart and lungs

I do cardio 3x per week, but I haven't been to the gym since Tuesday (I did 45 mins cardio). Weds. I went to a Dodgers game and yesterday I felt like this. I'm not sure if I'll make it tonight either, i jsut feel like getting some rest.

ahh.. you should be in good shape then.. if the shortness continues for more then a week, go get a checkup.

the shortness of breath comes from the lack of energies, that's what I'm worried baout, I've even upped my carbs in hopes that it helps but not so far.

I feel your pain bro, I drank lots of coffee for 35 years. I quit a few years back and had alot of withdraws, but I don't remember shortness of breath as one of them. Hang in there.....you will be glad you did.

It took a while before I felt normal without caffine. I used to drink alot of soda, but I quit a while ago.

OK, shortness of breath is not really a problem, it only happened because I got tired just from walking up the stairs. Lack of energies is what I am inquiring about right now. Just feeling totally drained and want to rest/sleep. It was really hard to get up in the morning even after adequate hours of sleep and multiple naps yesterday (I didn't come to work). My arms feel weak, my whole body feels weak, and my head is a bit hazy.

It's just withdraw. Give it time, you'll feel normal soon enough.
