Question about the suicde bombers

If this is such a glorious way to support your cause, then why don't you ever hear of the leaders of these groups strapping explosives to themselves and blowing themselves up?

Could it be that young adults are more easily manipulated and controlled? Maybe they just don't have the guts to do what they send others to do?

I'm asking because I want to understand the thinking behind this. I'm not condeming one religion or another, I just don't understand why someone would die for their religion.


Please keep this debate about the subject and don't use it to bash Arabs or Muslims. If it turns into a thread bashing either group I will delete it.

Actually all religions are a form of brainwashing to some extent.

People have died for religious beliefs since the beginning of religion. I just don't understand why.

because they believe in that one thing so strongly. people are ALWAYS using that as a tool, not just with religion, it happens in politics too. look at the mc carthy trials....

islam has an 'eye for an eye' clause in it basically, and its this that muslims use to justify the killing of innocents, because they have had innocents killed it makes them justified in killing others, equally innocent.

My understanding of Terrorist groups is: Leaders will usually keep themselves safe in order to coordinate attacks in the future. Young jerks with strapped bombs aren't smart enough to become leaders. Just look at Ben Laden, 98% of his men are pure dumbass. They couldnt even figure where New-York was....

i think its because they are told from day 1 that the world is this way, life i this way etc, its drilled into them. we're looking at this through western eyes, whereas for them its totally acceoptable, they havent benefitted (or suffered ) from a western education, or even a non-islamic one.....its considered bad for them to i think

and its not the people tht tell them this specifically, in the koran it basically says if you die in jihad you are given entrance into heaven no matter what your past sins. and the definition of jihad is holy war. but its easier for people to call any war a holy war (osama has etc)...and as such if people die during it...

as for the girls being used, the only thing that bothers me is the soldier who might hesitate shooting that girl due to the fact she is female. men always seem to have this instinct to trust and protect a woman when women are probably the most ruthless creatures on this planet.
