Question about single animo acid absorbtion...

I saw someone mention taking L-glutamine in addition to a whole protein in another post - are singular, supplemental amino acids just as effective when taken with whole foods, as they would be on an empty stomach? I was always told that you should take them on an empty stomach, otherwise they'd compete with other amino acids in whole foods for uptake.

Basically, should I be going out of my way to take 5-HTP and L-Tyrosine with no food in my stomach, as I have been? Or is it just a waste of time?

The so called "difference" between taking it w/ food or taking it on an empty stomach is a MYTH. Yup, another bodybuilding myth. It's just like the people that think nolvadex will hinder gains. Don't bother going out of your way to take aminos on an empty stomach. I would say the only product I would take on an empty stomach is 5-HTP.

Thanks, Mr. X. Taking L-Tyrosine on an empty stomach always gave me nausea something fierce, anyway. :)

I was wondering about this also. It would be tough to take it on an empty stomach anyways as my stomach is really never empty except in the morning. Good to know.
