Penicillan is going to help for a systemic infection (i.e you'll have a fever) If you have a localized abcess it more than likely will need to be be drained. If you do take the Pen your dose and frequency will depend on the strength. For example, Pen VK 500 should be taken 4x ed for 7-10 days. It also comes in a 250 mg pill.
Pen may also not be the best Ab for this type of an infection. I would ask a physician. There's lots of different Ab's out there.
