Question about adderall

deco

New member
I know it's not a steroid but I've seen lot of people on here who've taken it. I was wondering how is adderall linked to gyno? Somewhere online I ran into a guy who said that there's a very small possibility of developing gyno from adderall buit I can't seem to find anything about it anymore...
anyone know anything about that?

I've never heard of that. Doesn't seem likely, it will cause dramatic weight-loss and appetite suppression if someone uses more than the prescribed dose. Adderall is comprised of amphetamine salts, and can be addictive. Not to mention weight that might be lost isn't just fat, but muscle as well.

Taking 20 mgs. Adderall XR daily with no problems. Fantastic drug. The ultimate "productivity pill".

My breasts remain "unaffected" even when on cycle.

Great for motivation and helping to stay on task. Little potential for recreational abuse, as with Ritalin.

Great stuff to have if you are easily distracted or need focus to reach your full potential.

Only sides are loss of appetite, which is nothing that can't be easily remedied with a couple shots of eq a week.

i thought it was a mix of 4 different amphetimnes....

Yes it is a mix of four.

1/4 Dextro-amphetamine Saccharate
1/4 Dextro-amphetamine Sulfate
1/4 dl-amphetamine Aspartate (racemic amphetamine)
1/4 dl-amphetamine Sulfate (racemic amphetamine)

i never heard of it being related to Gynecomastia before and did not see it listed as a possible side effect on RX list. But who knows, maybe with other meds could be a reaction. Maybe it is prolactin related since adderall influences dopamine but one would not think so logicaly since dostinex is a dopamine agonist and it helps prevent prolactin related gyno. Not sure about that one at all. I think it effects thyroid also not sure if that is related to gyno or not. Good Question!

I agree that statement is wrong. Amphetamines can be extremely addictive and on the ranking scale used to classify them it is up with Cocaine. Although ritalin is used to treat adhd it is quite different from adderall or dexies. Ritaline is "like" an amphetamine. I know many people who have been addicted to these ADHD meds and I have tried them also, yes you can think faster, talk faster, focus better and longer and all kinds of great feeling but be carefull and probally not a good idea to play around with it unless you have a valid reason for using it.

I have been on Adderall since 14 yrs. old.....I'm 26 now. I actually do have issues with nipple tenderness. Because I started the Adderall around the same time as puberty can't be sure. I do know that as a result of being on Adderall for so long I have low cortisol levels. Such tends to be the case with either abusers of amphetamines (which I didn't do) or prolonged (12 years) maintenance usage. However, I have read that amphetamines can indeed cause gyno. My doc confirmed it. My very mild gyno got worse with Nolvadex.....but then when I took Proviron it worked like a f-ing charm. Haven't had to worry about Gyno since. Estrogen levels are good. Now that I'm on Test for a cycle I've raised the Proviron dose from 25 mg to 50 mg daily and thats worked damn well. Plus the Winny and Masteron both being DHT derivatives help with the gyno too. Oh yeah, and the only side effect I get from the proviron other than tightening up my gyno is an insane amount of erections.

To the general population, yeah. That statement can be regarded as naive. However, in relation to other drugs in it's class it is less likely to be abused.
There's a reason its a controlled substance, no doubt. But we are speaking in a forum of more educated substance users, and I thought that was understood.

Of all of the amphetamines, including the stuff made in trailer park bathtubs...which are most effectively used in the manner for which they are prescribed, offer the best result vs. side effects, and least likely to be abused?

Adderall would among the stimulants at the top of that list.
Yeah, it's a powerful drug that can be addictive and will be abused, as practically every controlled substance prescribed by doctors today.

I spoke in relative terms, and perhaps I overestimated the capacity for reason amongst the readers of this forum. I won't make that assumtion again, sorry.

Hah, years ago I went from adderall and coffee at the same time to full blown meth addiction. No other drug got me like that. Thankfully I got out of it after a couple of months.

Yes, adderall is addictive.

furthermore, ritalin has a potential for abuse as well. I knew guys in college who snorted the shit. I don't think that it has anything to do with capacity for reason. Yeah, t's not meth, and not coke. Don't take it personal when someone disagrees. That is why we have discussion forums.

I'm in a similar boat although I only started taking adderall not too long ago, maybe a year or so. I have lumpy stuff in my nipples and the fuckers hurt if I press on them.

It is not about the capacity for reason, it is simply that you have to be carefull when you make serious statements about serious drugs. I understand where you are coming from but not everyone who reads on this forum is an adult let alone an educated one. Anyone with access to a computer. As for the less likely to be abused part not sure i agree with ya on that one either but i can agree to disagree. The reason i say this is because i have been sourrounded by Dexedrine since Junior High. The town i come from is full of "dexies" the student who would never smoke dope, or break any law would take dexies because it became so normal. Everyone had(s) prescriptions because by grade ten you know how to pretend you have ADHD. Its more likely to be abused because the can get a prescription and not get in trouble for carrying it, unlike something like coke. The drug is growing in popularity like wildfire.

I can see how adderall can be addictive. For me personally it had so many bad sidefffects that It would be a hard task gettin addicted to it. Not to mention my sideffects have changed so much over time that I dont even know which one get addicted to at this point? extreme sweating? extreme shrinkage? extreme seriousness? tough call... of course i went through a stage where adderall would make me extremly talkative but the fact that I coulndt sleep for shit on the nights I took adderall definelty cancelled that one out. I used to have high blood pressure, would get extremly horny and god knows what else. In either case, It has finally stabilized for me and now I get only the goods as it seems, high concentration and gettin after things that need to be done.
