Quad injection

OK I used a 1/2inch needle to do a quad inject because my girlfriend got the wrong pins. It seemed to be the smoothest quad inject I ever did. Is there anything wrong with using that short a needle?

man, i feel like i am not going deep enough with 1". but i suppose it depends on the size of your quads. i went in partly sideways instead of straight shot in a few minutes ago, and thought i may not have went deep enough. you made me feel better now.

I wouldn't use less then 1 inch in the quad. Seems like 1/2 inch might even leave a bump.

I did it today 3 hours ago, no bump and more importantly no charlie horse pain. My thighs have very little to no fat so there isn't much for skin to go through. I took about a minute to inject 1 cc just to make sure it didn't end up pooling under the skin. I just have never had such a pain free quad inject ever. Wanted opinions as to whether or not I should stop using them for quads and also I might be brave enough to try a delt inject with these pins....is 1/2 inch OK for shoulders?

unless youre very lean, and i'm talking under 9%, chances are a .5 will be too short.

I inject in my quads, and use a 1 1/2". I always leave a 1/2" sticking out in case the needle breaks and I need to get it out. If you're only using 1/2", what happens if the needle breaks? Or am I being overly-cautious? I'm using a 25 g: do they break?

I just took my first injection last night...1" 23ga pin with 1cc sust & 1c fina. It felt okay ;ast night but when I woke up it was a little sore...by this afternoon if feels like someone gave my a dead leg...OUCH! I guess I should mention that when I inserted the pin my quad started twitching about half way in...I just relaxed and slid it the rest of the way...twitching went away...think I poked a nerve?

Just try to break one, but don't cut yourself trying....

You should stick it all the way in to prevent from moving a little when you aspirate and inject, possibly going in or out of a vein.

that's a good point austin. i too feel that 1.5" is too much for a quad, but a 1" would be perfect, inserted all the way. I've often stopped during an injection just to aspirate again because the needle moved. I guess I wouldn't have that problem if it was in all the way. Besides, who on this board has actually busted a needle off in themselves?

If a needle broke I would be screwed...don't even want to imagine. This moring I woke up with very little pain so now I have to try it again to see if it was a fluke because maybe I found the key for me personally with doing quad injects.

Exactly!!! There almost impossible to break off. For all those that have this fear of the pin breaking off should try breaking it themselves with there hands (be careful!!) just to over come their fear!!!!!!!!
