Purple Heart Plates....

It's been almost a year since my father passed and I mowed the lawn and went to change the plates on my mother's car. Well, the "Purple Heart" plate was on the car and I asked her about it...my father never would have never gotten or displayed it. She filed the paperwork for the plate with the State for him.....and it should have been Purple Heart('s)but.... :)

Our dad's were a special breed.

My grandmother received 3 notices of sons missing in action and they all returned.

Perhaps they were the greatest generation.

I was bagging up the garbage and I asked how much it cost her to have it picked up......Her response,"nothing." The owner of the waste collection company told her that she would never pay a dime..... My father was a very respected person in the community and he never made more than 40k a year...... :)

You're dad sounded like an honourable man, JG.

My mom told me my biological father received some sort of commendation for his Vietnam tour, not sure what though.

right on JG. My only WW2 vet relative was the meanest, most angry man I had ever met in my life. He was my great grandpa, lost his leg to a german knife but killed the guy. My mom didnt even want to see him most of the time, but I'm sure he had some great stories.

There are/were lots of dedicated honorable men like your dad who I respect tremendously

Nowadays you have a lot of pussies simply draining money from the system. One of my ex buddies receives 20 some thousand dollars per year for his "supposed" injured leg. He's never seen a day of combat in his life. Oh and he also gets drugs prescribed for free each month and his car tags free. He is truly pathetic.

personally I think the Vietnam era US soldiers performed the finest
ironic since the politicians allowed us to lose that war

they're gonna do it again too I fear
