Pure speculation about a higher power...

Being that I don't believe in any higher power this is a theoretical question. But do you think that if God and Satan do exist, that God tried to make himself look better so that others would follow him instead of Satan. After all there could be another book out there similar to the bible that we haven't found yet that tells a different story. If that book was found would your views be opened a bit? Or would they stay the same just because you've already commited to something...
