STEROIDS ARE FOR LAZY, LOW-LIFE LOSERS!

By Tony D'Amato

Posted on NaturalStrength.com on June 19, 1999

The alarming incidence of steroid abuse among lifters and athletes does not surprise me one bit in this day and age. The attitude of getting everything at once without putting in any effort is very prevalent in today's society.

I can't stand this attitude. Everybody wants to be rich, but there are few who are willing to work hard enough to earn the money. There are so many people who whine about their job, but they don't have the balls to do something about it - whether it be saving money to go back to school, working overtime to earn a promotion, or trying something new altogether. Instead people buy lottery tickets and take trips to Atlantic City, or sit at a bar and talk about what they SHOULD have done. Everybody wants to be thin, but again nobody has the mental fortitude to get down and put the time in. You're fat? Well, let's see. You don't exercise, you sit on your ass all day, and your diet consists of donuts and Pepsi. And you are complaining? Tell most people that they have to eat right and exercise, and they will tell you that they don't want to or they don't have the time. They would rather waste money on the latest diet pill they saw on TV, or on the book with all the secrets on how to eat donuts and Pepsi and STILL lose weight, instead of actually trying. The same thing goes for all of those bogus supplements out there. Every day someone else is buying this garbage and even worse, actually believing that it will have a drastic effect on their appearance.

Steroids fall right into this category. People want all of the muscle without working for it. Some people do not have the guts to get in the gym and do what it takes to build muscle and strength; they would rather do nothing and get the results. Well, to me that is a joke. If there was a safe way to build muscle without training, I would still train. One of my main interests is strength training, and I get a lot of fulfillment from the feeling of making progress every week, and from knowing that I am working twice as hard as 99 percent of the people in the world will ever work in their lives. I am sure that many of the people reading this are the same way, but we are the minority. For every one of us that loves to squat until we vomit, there are a hundred who would never voluntarily attempt such a feat if their life depended on it...because it's too hard. They would much rather take the easy way out by using steroids. Health concerns aside, would you really feel proud of all of the muscle that you have built if you got it through a syringe? I know I wouldn't. It's a question of character.

Is it easier to just take drugs? Yes. Is it worth it in terms of your character and your health? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Like Bob's slogan says: "BUILD MUSCLE THE OLD FASHIONED WAY...EARN IT!"

I was bored tonight and just surfing around. I stumbled across this article. It just makes me sick. This is a perfect example of the total f'n ignorance of the general public about AAS. They think you pop a pill or stick yourself with a needle and suddenly you have muscles !!! And all this time I've been busting my ass in the gym. I wish I would have known I didn't have too. Hey bros you can all stop training now !! What a moron.

That is the a very uneducated view on roids. Steroids do get you big at all. Steroids with proper training and diet get you big. All they do is make your body more effecient and allow it to withstand more intense workouts.

WOW,

He also basically stated that people who do steroids dont like to squat until they throw up.... Giv me a fuckin break....

Where did this guy come from? some natural all boy rich school? Without training, eating and resting hard while taking the gear you will not grow at all.

Pencil Neck go back to Oxford

I can guarantee you that most who take steroids have more desire than any. We have weighed the risk/benifit ratio and are willing to accept the risk, because we have the desire to be big.

people like this are just gealous. I waited 15 years before I ever tried it. I maxed most of my natural potential and looked better than a lot of AS users, I simply wanted to take it to the next level for awhile. I don't need some wanna-be telling me what hard work in the gym and dieting is like!

be careful dude, since you started taking juice you might not want to squat until you throw up like those ALL-NATURAL dudes....hahaha

Must retards don't realize you still have to work your balls off. I know some guys at my gym that are on and look like shit. I was in better shape than them when I was natural. Funny, these natural dudes are all taking every supplement they can get there hands on. Prohormones, creatine, etc. As far as I am concerned AS is just another sup.. that some suit has decided is illegal!

Dont' forget about that most-important issue of education.

My philosophy is that anything I personally feel I want to put into my body AFTER TOTALLY EDUCATING MYSELF ON THE RISK/REWARD, ETC is my personal business. NOT the governments, not the police, no ones.

With that said, most people I know who are 'on' are incredibly knowledgable about nutrition, diet, training.. not to mention biology and chemistry!!!!

something tell me the guy who wrote that doesnt get much ass lol. fuck the general public they're too stuck in a rut and believe everything they hear on tv.

AGREED sorry man the stuff gave me life to live so SHUT YOUR PIE HOLE!

I would really like to see a piture of this dumb ass since he states he trains harder than 99% of us he must be HUGE (YEAH RIGHT!!!!)

This sounds like an insecure little shit or a fat ass who is weak and pissed off at everyone who is stronger. I bet this fuck goes around telling people that this person or another is only big because of roid use. I would also bet that he accuses a lot of natural guys with good builds of being on the juice, but never to their face, mine you.:)

i actually agree with him to an extent. i think what he is referring to is the people who train for like 6 months then get bored waiting for results then decide to juice. lazy people basically

also i hear so many people on this board say how much dedication they have to train hard to get big which is just bull. if you had that dedication then you would train even harder naturally, and not give up and resort to juice. (im not talking about the guys who train for 15 years and then decide to juice) also AS give you the will and ability to train harder so it isnt you who is training harder but the juice thats making you

Jacob your post is IMO rather ridiculous...

Let's take 2 people, person A and person B, they both put out the same amount of intensity and dedication in the gym.

Both work extremely (and equally) hard.

Both have been training naturally for 2 years...
Person A reads your post and agrees...he decides to continue training naturally.... 5 years down the road he has gained a modest 13 lbs of actual lean muscle mass.

Person B trains just as hard as person A, puts in just as much time and energy, but decides to take the juice route... 5 years down the road person B has an additional 45lbs of actual lean muscle mass

What's the problem?

hey frackal im not bad mouthing juicing. i do it so it would be hypocritical to do so.
the guy is saying that people resort to juice all too easily. and i choose the word resort carefully beuase i think steroids are the last thing people should be choosing to do. when all other options have been exhausted then and only then should u even contemplate roids IMO. so many people and especialy on this board i.e. newbies say "i have been training for 6 months and i want to put on 30lbs of muscle in 8 weeks. what can i pump my body full of to do it." its stupid. people are risking long term damage for short term gains.
if you can do it natural then do it natural. people dont wnat to put the time or do not have the will power to train natural for a year longer and get the results they want in a healthier way.

I see where Jacob is coming from to an extent. I also have a bit of a problem with the point of the article of how America has become a society that wants everything as convenient as it can be.

BUT.... if it's done right and you're truly dedicated to putting in the sweat and tears (and have been for several years), AAS are truly a gift from God and should be a personal decision you have to make, and live with, yourself. No one else.

Sure, America has become a country wanting everything "the easy route". But, it's also become a country where people's own business has become "everyone else's" favorite pasttime, too! As a "libertarian thinking conservative" that I am, to me, it's just one of those things you must educate yourself on and decide for yourself. And that bastard can mind his own business as far as I'm concerned and stay outta mine.

Okay.. I'm going to quite bumping this thread. The title annoys me.
