I was in movies with my girl at that time watching it, and I wanted to literally throw up. I wanted to leave, she made me stay for 2.5 hours or whatever the film lasted and finish watchin git. That girl in the movie was so fucking ugly, I couldnt even look at any girl for the entire day. God that was an awful movie

that movie is great. the problem is that a) you were looking for a slapstick funny stupid movie like his other stuff and b) you have to be able to see the true meaning of the movie. sounds gay, but it's more of an artsy movie than a "funny" one.

I've seen plenty of worse movies than that.

The problem is that Sandler has been typecast - so people expect certain things from him.

Not to mention that director/writer does strange things and then you try to think of what symbolism he is trying to reach for - but in reality he does shit just for the sake of being weird.
Not in a cool and arty way like Lynch, but just in a very nearly realistic way.

Like the piano and the car wreck at the beginning, etc etc.

You then watch interviews with him and he explains that he had some weird dream and he wanted to replicate the experience of that dream through a movie.

His movies do usually have a great look about them though.

Well, I had read on the back of the cover that Adam Sandler was nominated for Actor of the Year for that movie as well as other nominations for the movie...WHAT WERE THEY THINKING??? lol
