Can anyone share any opinions on any of the following games you may have played?

I'm looking to pickup about 5 or 6 of these titles tomorrow and was trying to narrow it down.

I haven't bothered getting a mod chip yet. A guy I know runs a dump site on a T1 connection, loaded with all kinds of ps1/2, DC, and PC games. He has a new supervisor at work and had to temporarily shut down the server. It should be up in a month or 2 and I figured I'll just shell out the cash now instead of scouring the ftp sites on IRC and wasting a bunch of time.

Those external USB mod chips seem like the way to go.

I can't give any comments on those games just yet, but i did buy like 6 games off ebay yesterday, including dta3, dmc, and mgs2. I'm currently playing chrono cross on the ps2 right now...yeah it's a ps1 game, but it's one of the best ever rpg's.

Exactly. Glad you're hooked up. I was in the mall this weekend, and a mom was shopping for PS2 games for her son. She was having a real hard time deciding which game she should get him. $50.00 a pop, who wouldn't?

She could go to the video store, rent them for $5 a pop, and for the same price, her son could open 10 games on Christmas morning, rather than one. I felt sorry for her. She walked out empty handed.

No can do on the hookup. The guy who runs it isn't really a friend per se. It's my friend's girlfriend's brother. I've never even met the guy. My friend cleared it with him and he only allows our IP's to connect. We basically just leech off the site and the only time we have access is from 6 PM to 6 AM on the weekdays. I'd hook it up if I could though.

Yeah, now you got me thinking. I think I'll just grab Final Fantasy X on the 20th to hold me over. I just got into the habbit of grabbing everything off that site in the last year or so. It made me too damn lazy. I should just take the money for the titles I was going to buy and grab a mod chip tomorrow and go back to my old IRC ways for the time being. I had some money saved away for an Xbox and I decided I don't really need one and was just eager to spend it like the typical American consumer. It'd be better spent on some books and dvd's off my Amazon wish list anyway.

nfl2k2 is ok at best... too many injuries.. if your qb runs he will be hurt within 3 carries... its horrid.

if you miss a tackle the guy is going for a touch each and every time.. fuck, charlie batch could do it... the stars are uncontrollable. faulk with a 12 yd average per carry against me every time i play him. add on 4 missed tackles per play and it gets frustrating.

devil may cry is a slasher, no real strategy.. just hit a button and kill people. most like it but it doesnt appeal to me cuz of that.

i owned silent hill and returned it... sucked!!! too slow, boring, etc..

nhl is awesome.. easily the best hockey i have ever played.. good stats too. and only one "bullshit goal" move goes in a lot, but i dont know how to do it.. from what i heard you shoot with a "cold" right handed shooter just inside the blue line... shot has to be a loopy soft shot... i havent seen it work though.

ncaa is madden from last year with some slight improvements... if you like to sim and recruit, this game is a must have.. recruiting is 75% of the fun with this game.. being able to draft into madden is pretty cool too.

i had red faction but i was broke and needed madden so i exchanged it. it was a fun game but if you want a 1st person or some sort of shooter go with metal gear solid... so far its been a blast. i'm usually sports only, but this game is a keeper (till i solve it).

i never play racing games, but i hear that grand theft auto is a "great" game...

NCAA 2002 and NHL 2002 were pretty much definates. You can't really go wrong with an EA Sports title. Although the reviews on NBA LIVE 2002 aren't very good.

My friend is loaning me Metal Gear 2 this week. I'm looking forward to playing that one.

NFL 2K2 had good reviews. I'm going to have to rent that soon and see how it stacks up to Madden.

what the fuck?!?!?! my game stopped in mid action.. i couldnt move.. so i look down and the fucking dog just bit through the controller chord.. mother fucker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now i gotta blow money on a new controller AND redo the fucking level i was on in metal gear.. i fuckin just backtracked to pick some weapons up too.. i'm not fucking happy!!!!!!!!!!! and now i am bored!!!!!!!!!!!!

BGDA: Great game, can play as te elf in my avatar if u beat it a certain way

One of my dogs pissed all over my old psx about 2 years ago. I could've killed the fucker. I cleaned it as best I could, but it was fried. Had to do the old switch-a-roo at the store the next day.

BGDA looks cool as hell. I didn't even know they had that game. Just found out this morning when I was looking at game reviews.

FF10 is a given. Been waiting for that one.

Devil May Cry - Despite what madbomber said, it has a very in depth fight system which is only appreciated on hard level. Best game I've ever played in it's genre.

NCAA Football 2002 - Nice looking but Madden is better.

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance - Never played it.

Dynasty Warriors 3 - Brothers friend swears by it.

NFL 2K2 - See NCAA

NHL 2002 - NP

Silent Hill 2 - Same feel as part 1. Graphics are similar. Game isn't quite as scary but if you liked the first one, this will do. I LOVED 1, BTW.

Dark Cloud - Very Zelda like.

Resident Evil Codename Veronica - Can't go wrong with RE. Best one yet.

Red Faction - NP

Tony Hawk 3 - I don't see what people like about this shit. If you like 2, you'll love 3 though.

Onimusha: Warlords - NP

Kessen 2 - NP
