how much is too much when dealing with protein powders?

i take 3 a day...sometimes 4

1 in the morning first thing, 1 post workout and 1 before bed....there are times when i might take another pre workout

some say its not good for your health

any opinions?
 
If you're not having the runs, or your butt doesn't feel like a water fountain, you're probably fine.

If you are, then your body isn't consuming it all. In my opinion, I think your body starts adapting, because when I first started taking protein, I would have to use the restroom when I used 2 scoops of protein. Now, I dont have a problem.
 
If you have a choice between food or powder, choose the food. I think one shake a day is plenty unless you are too busy to boil an egg or grill a chicken breast.

Personally, I like one with breakfast & one before bed! 3 or 4 is too many
 
there are some days i will have 4or5, days when i am real busy and do not even have the down time to eat, on those days i carry isopure ready made drinks with me..
I do not like to have to do that though, I prefer 2-3 shakes a day and 4-5 solid meals.. somtimes no choice though :(
 
Agreed, on a busy day where I dont get to take in enough food, Ill up the shakes, but generally I have one in the morning, one post workout, and one before bed.
 
I usually have 4 a day.. I am not shitting all over the place so I know im consuming it.

4 shakes.. 1 breakfast, mid day, post workout, 1hour b4 bed.
Also eat about 70 grams of protein in tuna divided into 3 meals, chicken steak or tilapia for dinner and multigrain fiber and yogurt in the am

Also take multi vitamin and kreatine
 
1 before mornign cardio 1 post workout...food the rest fo the day
 
3 a day when cutting, up to 5 a day when bulking. Although I drink 3 nutritional drinks (boost high protein) a day along with 2 protein shakes during bulking phase. It has worked wonderfully for me and doesn't make me full and allows me to still eat 8-10 small meals a day. Its a full time job eating to bulk I tell ya.
 
My shake schedule:

40-50g in the morning
30g pre-workout
60-70g post-workout
60-70g before bed

plus i eat about 150g protein a day
 
Been doing 3/day for years. One as the first meal of the day, and the other two are fillers between whole food meals. I take all my supps (pills) with my morning and pre-bed shake. . . . makes them go down way easier.

no will not harm you bro,,, if your not farting and shitting all the time your good to go... from what i have read there is no solid proof that excess protein causes any organ damage, drink enough water and your body will get rid of what it does not need...
