Protein Intake?

Recommended Daily Allowance is 0.8 grams per every 2.2 lbs of body weight. I think most people trying to build muscle shoot for 1 to 1.5 grams per lb of body weight. I think I saw somewhere the body can only absorb 35-40 grs per meal.
 
I take in about 280 grams from shakes... The rest comes from natural foods... not sure how much though..
 
I aim for about 400 per day. Half from powder and the remainder from chicken, steak, tuna, and other dietary sources.
 
I shoot for around 300g protein/day (I weigh 190 at 10%). I split up the protein into 8 meals... so thats about 35-40g of protein per meal.

I've searched the internet for protein absorbtion for a long time. And I couldnt find any studies that say how much the body can absorb at one time. Plus, not all protein powders have what they say they have per serving. So to stay on the safe side, I just do 2 scoops of 20g at one time.

fuck how many shakes a day is that? mine are 42g a piece i wack out 3 of those and about four chicken breast a day.
 
i would say around 40 -50 grams/ meal.. postworkout meal is like 70- 80 grams! hah

20g a scoup, and if you do two at once, it's 40. 300g/40=7 times a day. Which is more than I can handle.

ah perfect thats what i was looking for...didnt know if i was just wasting protein...my powder says 23g per serving, but didnt know if 2 scoops was good enough.

wow 70-80g post workout,...im only hitting 46g...with a shake, how can i add more? just do a bigger shake? or add milk (i mix it in water)

holy shit i cant see wacking out 7 shakes a day 3 is good for me.i hit in the 230-270g of protein range is plenty for me.
 
50 grams every 3 hours, except PW, where I'll down a PW shake and then another meal with 50 grams 1 1/2 hours later. I try to not get less than 40 as a minimum in any one mael, and may go as high as 60 grams in a meal.
 
I eat about 1.5 gr/pd of protein. I've gone as high as 2-2.5gr/pd of protien for extended periods of time and can say there is no noticeable difference than 1.5 gr/pd.... for me at least.

If you do research the only thing you'll ever find is recommendation to take 1.5g of protein per lb. But there are no studies at all, not on protein absorbtion at one time, not on ... if 1.5 is better than .5g per lb.
 
Any easy way to get extra protein IN ADDITION to natural foods is to buy regular whey powder, mix in 20 grams of it with water and slam it at the end of each meal. Doesn't bloat at all
 
When bulking, I try to get minimum 30g's per meal, 6 meals a day. Post-workout is always 50-60 grams though, as well as my shake before bed, so I end up around 220-230 grams when bulking. Still only go for about 30-40g's per meal when cutting, I just up it to about 10 meals per day, 300g's protein. I'm only 5'5" and about 200lbs at my heaviest so that's enough for me, damn I couldn't handle 7 shakes a day, I'd be broke AND disgustingly full :)

I'm in no way saying 2-3gr/pd of protein is useless. At MY LEVEL however, my body cannot make use of it.

Pump 3 grams of test in me and its a different ballgame.

That's the sad thing. There is nobody out there to do research on this kinda stuff. Nobody really knows how much protein a day the body can use for it's necessary repairs. I've never noticed a difference in taking 150g vs 250g of protein while on a cycle.
