Protein Absorption

I have heard time and time again that the human body can only absorb between 30 and 38 grams of protein in one sitting. Is this true?

If so, how do you take in 300 grams of protein in one day?
 
Everyone's different, and you can work your way up to it. I take 50g with my shakes and don't have any problems. I've also eaten 3 large chicken breasts at one meal without any problems. I think when you first start out you might want to just take 25-30g, and slowly work your way up.
