for those who have actually taken proscar(finasterine) 5mg on cycle, did u take it ED or EOD and at what dose?

I think the norm in 5mg EOD?

I just started a cycle and I'm taking Poscar ED. Poscar makes me weak but that’s it. I’m taking it to protect my prostate. Might start taking a half or EOD. I want to hear other users responses also.

How to take PROSCAR

Your doctor has prescribed PROSCAR because you have a medical condition called benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH. This occurs only in men.

PROSCAR lowers levels of a key hormone called DHT (dihydrotestosterone), which is a major cause of prostate growth. Lowering DHT leads to shrinkage of the enlarged prostate gland in most men. This can lead to gradual improvement in urine flow and symptoms over the next several months. PROSCAR will help reduce the risk of developing a sudden inability to pass urine and the need for surgery. However, since each case of BPH is different, you should know that:

Even though the prostate shrinks, you may NOT notice an improvement in urine flow or symptoms.

You may need to take PROSCAR for six (6) months or more to see whether it improves your symptoms.

Therapy with PROSCAR may reduce your risk for a sudden inability to pass urine and the need for surgery.

that is what i always heard. been using 1/5 tab ED of the 5mg proscar while on test etc. hard to bust those into 5ths i tell you. sometimes its 6 or 4 pieces.....but you get the picture. i take SP extract for the prostate though.....cheaper by far. just hope the proscar helps with the hair along with the topicals.

i noticed i was thining out a little last cycle

keep in mind those doses of finasterdine are for the NORMAL person, not a person who is generating more DHT conversion then normal

yeah, but a "normal" person with hairloss problems, is about what one of us that doesn't really have a balding problem is when we are on AAS. if you get what i mean. so when one of us uses the normal "hairloss" dose, it should be adequate. i wouldn't want to shut down DHT more than what is necessary personally. never heard of anyone taking more than 1mg or 1.25mg a day. BTW: you are way better off taking the topicals like spiro and minox and nizoral along with 1mg-1.25mg proscar rather than raising your dosage of proscar. JMO and what i do.

being is that it will inhibit your gains.

In most cases, topicals such as Minoxidil, Spiro and Nizoral will
do the job during a test cycle and therefore Finasteride should
be used as a last resort.

Also, the dosage for preventing hair loss should not exceed 1mg
per day.

I think Huck who's a respectable mod here noted he takes 5mg finasterine (1 tab proscar) ED when he's on 1gram of test a week.

That's what I'm doing also on 750mg of test a week considering I want to both protect my prostate and my hairline

it may inhibit gains at the cost of protecting your hair...people also claim arimidex does the same and ndex, and ldex, so honestly its on a n indivisual basis, if one notices gains being inhibited, then they could taper off whatever it is they belive is inhibiting such gains

LOL,bro,DHT is a JOKE in terms of anabolism,so I wouldn't worry too much about gaining mass via it's suppression.It DOES have some CNS/PNS stimulating characteristics though,so strength can be effected,although I've never noticed it to any great degree.If libido is a concern,drop in 50mgs/day of proviron.BPH is nothing to fuck with,if you've had probs in the past with it(I have),take appropriate measures.

Personally, i'd rather have slower gains than risk having prostate cancer down the road. I would never do a high dose test cycle without finasteride.

its still overkill.....600mg saw palmetto extract ALONE will take care of your prostate....i add in 1.25mg of proscar too. but 5mg ED is nuts. def libido drop, and it will for sure hinder your gains when your dropping your DHT to nothing and your estrogen to nothing most likely too with anti-E's. SP extract is prostate specific for the most part, why use a med that is known for causing problems like proscar in mega dosing? may work for you, but i wouldn't tell others to do it.
