proscar+propecia what's difference?

how do these 2 drugs compare? my doctor said that proscar is 5 times stronger, but as far as the way they work, how are they different if at all?

They are both finasteride. The propecia is 1mg per tab and the proscar is 5mg per tab. Same drug, different strengths. The proscar is usually cheaper.

what about fincar?
on ajc's site it said use fincar because its cheaper than both of them

same thing. its probably a name from a certain company. Just get the Proscar and cut it into 1/4's with a razor blade/pill cutter.
