will finasteride cause gyno? how does it cause gyno? will taking arimidex prevent gyno caused by proscar?

Do a search. I think finasteride lowers DHT levels, and in the absense of DHT estrogen can take a greater effect on the receptors....

finasteride will not cause gyno, but it will raise estrogen about 15%...

Question, if something causing an increase in estrogen how can it not cause gyno? But, does proscar really cause estrogen to increase? Does the down regulation of DHT really cause estrogen to have a greater effect?

Yes it can cause gyno, when I got it prescribed from the doc I asked him the possible sides. Gyno and testicular shrinkage was part of it. He said both were very rare but are possible. Took proscar (finesteride) for a couple of months for my hair but stopped because it wasn't worth it. Killed my sex drive (came back right after I stopped).
