Prohormones and contest prep

Tenacious Tess

New member
On January 1st I begin contest prep for the Oregon Ironman 2003. I placed fifth in this show last year in the Novice Womens under 125. This year my plan is to take first and overall. I came in last year with 102 pounds of lean mass and buggy whip 11 inch biceps. This year after two cycles of NorSpray I am currently at 134 pounds of lean mass and 14 1/4 inch biceps. I am currently at around 14% BF, my goal is 3-5% for contest. Have any of you had great cutting results while maintaining your lean mass with any of the prohormones? Someone suggested that I try 1-AD and more NorSpray, any hints?

Also, where i the world do you women find clothes that fit? I am having to wear my husbands t-shirts aas the womens shirts won't fit across my new bat wings (lats) and my biceps......LOL ain't life great?

Thanks

Unfortunately doll, I don't think you will get many responses on this one. Most women here have never used Prohormones or did and they got absolutely nothing from them. They are crap IMO, you get the sides from them though, so I just go for the real stuff.

Interesting. I've never had to resort to prohormones. I do know of a couple out there that do work, i.e. testimonials of excellent gains by guys who have used the stuff.

However, the Oregon Ironman Naturally, I thought prohormones would be a no-no. I know they use a polygraph, correct?

What I do, since I compete in drug tested shows (have competed in the Oregon Ironman and the Washington Ironman - got second in my class in both shows), what I do is stay at around 10-11% off season, never going above 12% BF. Right now, I'm comfortably staying at 122lbs (height 5'4"). I've actually gained LBM since my last show (Vancouver Natural 2001). I train heavy, concentrate on the big compound lifts and for the last three weeks have supplemented my weight training with one night of training with Oregon Strongmen. I think "little additions" like, flipping a 320lb tire 20+ times should add some LBM. Weight training is 3x a week. Boxing training is another 3 nights.

What I'm getting at, that for someone who is drug free to see gains, you need to be wary of recovery time. Also, train heavy. I like a 5x5 protocol, 3x a week. That enabled me to actually get leaner, harder while seeing definite strength gains. What you could also do is add "High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)" to your regimen. You could do something like 1-2 minute "rounds" on the rowing machine or jump rope and perform the "rounds" for 20-30 minutes. This will help shed BF, while maintaining LBM. I perform "boxing rounds" of 3-minutes with the jump rope, 2-3 nights a week. Trust me, it works! Let me add, that I make sure I'm eating plenty of protein, as well as carbs (since I don't want to end face down on the canvas) - basically, enough FOOD. This has been instrumental in my gains.
Gosh, sorry for such a long post. But I hope this helps! Good luck!

Theres an EQ precursor (1,4-ADD I think) that may be another tool to add. It will probably have all the sides of EQ, so I'd look those up first.

What sides did you experience on the Nor-spray?

3-5% bf? Yikes. I'm not sure what you are basing that on, but as I understand 3% bf is the bf associated with your internal bodyfat and below that you are dead. You might want to focus your goals somewhere between 7-8% just for minimal health reasons. Just my humble opinion.

Most of the pro women we body comp'd came in between 3.5 and 5.5% contest ready. None were natural however.
