Progesterone, is a completely different hormone than estrogen, I've even heard it has some real healthful benefits for men. Has anyone else heard anything on the benefits of Progesterone - its effect of balancing Estrogen ...and would and one know or speculate as to any benefits of taking progesterone...during a cycle...?

From what I gather, progesterone increases fat storage and appetite. Progesterone also will slow down your natural testosterone production.

The whole progesterone balancing with estrogen doesn’t really apply to men so much as it does to women. If you supplement with too much progesterone, which you very easily could since men have such a small amount, then you would end up suppressing your libido and giving yourself gyno.

Rememeber, progesterone is a natural suppressor of DHT, and if you lower DHT too much then the above side effects are common.

Very small amount of progesterone can be beneficial, but I wouldn’t supplement with anymore than 5mg day topically.

I've actually read that progesterone...is a precursor to the production of Testosterone...and may actually 'boost' Testosterone production.......??

O'K... This is helpful to know....(..."suppressing your libido and giving yourself gynecomastia.) -- But I also hear you saying that a small amout < 5mg topically, could reap excellent benefits??
or should yield beneficial results...?
Also isn't DHT a negative from the stand point of gains and keeping them...?
In other words would it not be good to surpress DHT - a Lil bit ??

A small amount might provide benefits for a man suffering from DHT related hair loss. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be worth your time. Most men dont need to reduce DHT.

BTW, progesterone is a precursor to T when it’s produced naturally in the testes, where the necessary enzymes are there to make the conversion to testosterone. It doesn’t raise testosterone not when it’s taken exogenously, because it will reach the brain and cause lh - leutenizing hormone - /FSH - follicle stimulating hormone - shutdown before it will ever interact with the steroidogenic enzymes in the balls.

Primordial Performance I believe is right. Pregnenolone is the root hormone which will eventually convert to progesterone and then eventually become testosterone, or the pregnenolone will eventually become androstenedione which will become testosterone, but this is from normal testicular function and endogenous progesterone, not exogenous. I would think the exogenous progesterone would cause a feedback loop and then you'll have the same bad side effects that men get from too much estadiol.
