Problems getting cut

I'm on my 6th week of a Fina/Winny Cycle.... I am happy with the strength gains I've made, and the extreme muscle hardness.. but my chest , abs , and lower back still seem ... how should I say this.... a little ....flabby maybe? Arms and legs are tight, vascular, and cut... why can't I get the middle cut??

I eat 5-6 small meals a day ( every 2-2 1/2 hours ) each meal includes at least 30-35 gms of protein , two of the meals are
Met-Rx shakes.... I have a desk job 9-5 Mon-Fri... I lift for about an hour a day mon-fri.... and do 15-20 minutes of heavy cardio...I never really cheat ..except for a sweet every once in a while...

why can't I get my chest, abs, and lower back as tight as the rest??
 
instead of doing 15-20 minutes of cardio M-F, try doing 40-45 minutes M, W, and F. 20 minutes is the minimum you should be doing to see results.
 
Met-RX shakes could be the problem.

Maltodextrin can effects certain people differently. It is making hard for you to lose that fat around the waist because of high insulin levels.
 
Try some Labrada V-60 and throw in some oatmeal in a blender.

This is what I do

1.5 cup of skim milk
half a cup of one minute oatmeal(not cooked)
1 scoop of labrada

60g of carbs/50g of protein/ <5g of fat

That's my breakfest.

You can try a scoop and a half(or just one scoop depending on your caloric intake) of V-60 with 1/3 of a cup of oatmeal. No milk, just water.

<25g of carbs/ 50g of protein/ ?? fat
 
Relatively cheap (55 cdn) and a tub is 3lbs I think.

a 40g scoop has 30g of protein.

The vanilla is the only one I've tried. It's not ice cream, but it's not bad.

Btw, you might want to post your entire diet. I assumed that the shakes were the problem because you were doing okay some other bodyparts.
 
oK..... my diet

Mon-Fri is the same:

8:30am 5 egg whites, piece of toast, or oatmeal
10:30am 1 Met-Rx Shake
21:30pm 8oz. of grilled chicken, a veggie , and a starch.
2:30pm 8oz. of grilled chicken
4:30pm 1 Met-Rx shake
7pm a White Lightening Drink from Gym ( 40gms protein 32 carbs)
9or 10pm 8oz grilled chicken , a veggie , no starch


and that sums it up.... on the weekends I do cheat with a little vodka and some fatty foods maybe.....

So what do i need to do?

Does not make sense but you may not be eating enough food. I have seen guys who under eat like you are and get stuck in a diet and can not get any leaner. You may want to start cycling your carb days. Something like day 1 and 2 at 200 grams of carbs, day 3 at 100 and day four at 300. Keep your protien constant. You could also up your cardio to 35 minutes a day. BTW stay away from the vodka.
 
Look okay. Eat much more for breakfest, 8egg whites with 1 whole egg.

You are not eating enough good fat. Your body needs a little fat to burn fat. Add a tablespoon of olive oil or flaxseed oil to one of your meals.

Replace: your met-rx shakes with the oatmeal and scoop of V-60

Question: What do you mean by Starch for the 1:30 meal.

And if you want the best results don't cheat! You are human, so every 12-16 days schedule 1 cheat meal.
 
Stay away from drinking while on sauce!! Also try not to have any carbs past 6pm. That will melt some fat away. I also agree with whodaman, that you should bump up the cardio to 45-60. When I am cutting I do an hour of cardio M-F. Hope this helps a little and keep us informed.
 
When are you doing the cardio? Hopefully either first thing in the morning on an empty stomach or immediately after you lift. Also, as mentioned, up it to 40-45 minutes. It doesn't all have to be the same type the whole time either. Walk on an incline some, jog for a while, or walk a few minutes then sprint a minute and repeat ect. Does the Met-Rx shake contain mostly only protein? If not, you may want to switch to one with less carbs. If you are trying to lose bf, I would take in carbs for breakfast and after your workouts to replace lost gylcogen and aid in recovery.

1 starch means a potaoto or a pasta salad..


I do get some fat during the week...but its from a sweet here and there ... for some reason I crave sweets ... is a couple of cookies a day really bad.... is that not the right kind of fat??

And i figured as much..... Vodka is probobly one of the major contributors..... That sucks ... because after a long week.. I really like my vodka cocktails........ oh well.....

so you do an hour of cardio a day ..while cutting.... I don't think I'd have the strength to go that long after mt weight training...but that's the only time in my schedule to do it.....


guess I'd better increase my cardio health...... and I have to admit it's not the most enjoyable part of my workout
 
Yes cookies contain the wrong kinds of fat. Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil: your biggest enemy.

Well you could cheat more often than every 12 days but I know I wouldn't be able to. Once I start cheating here and there I fuck up big time. You may be stronger, I don't know. You could schedule a cheat meal every once in a while, but make sure it sort of fit into your diet. Subway subs(no sauce, whole wheat bread, double breast) are my favorite cheats. I still make sure It fits in the diet.

You really should consider cardio on an empty stomach(with 4g of BCAAS) in the morning. You would be very suprised. Good for longer and less intense bouts of cardio.

Bah...I have 3 or 4 shots per week. I think the issue is to not get drunk. I seriously doubt that one drink in the evening is going to be an issue.

Yeah, but he also is not taking shots...he is drinking cocktails which are probably mixed with juice, or some sour mix which is full of sugar. And we also don't know how many he is having. The cals/sugar all add up along with the sweets and too short of duration of cardio. I would suggest to pick one day to consume your sweets. Don't go overboard either on this day. Do cardio 3-4 times/wk for 40-45 minutes on an empty stomach in the morning or after training. If you are craving something sweet, have some sugar free jello or some crystal light or diet soda. That should help your cravings. Also, drinking on a fina/winny cycle can't be great regardless, but I am not here to preach, just to help. Good luck brotha.
