A student is taking part in a course that consists of 8 different lessons. For the final test , 3 of the 8 are chosen of which the student has to answer 1.
A student prepares only 2 of the eight lessons in order to minimize his work.
1. What is the number of the possible cases?
2.What is the number of the cases in which one or two lessons he prepared are asked?
3. What is the probability of his plan succeeding?
I think number 1. is 8! / 3! 5! but i´m not sure what the answer for number 2. and 3. is.
Can someone solve this problem?
