Whatever it is, I want to stay well clear of it... no gimicks this year..
Anyone breaking loose on the creativity tip with gifts for the wee one's this year?
Whatchya getting/giving/making?
ChefWide said:3, 6 and 10.
Yum.
jaded said:Aww...that's a similar age difference as with me and my two sisters.
I'm 18, my one sister is 15, and my youngest sister is 11.
And I remember when I was younger and every year there was that "must-have" gift that every kid wanted... we would get it and it would be "the best gift ever!!!" until the next new "must-have" toy came outLOL! now that i think about it, the money my parents must've spent on buying us various little toys and gimmicks... there were pogs, easy bake ovens, various trading cards, fake kitchen sets, those fake ice cream makers, dolls that looked like they'd soiled their diapers and you could change them, big fuzzy remote control cats... LMAO!
ChefWide said:I have three boys so each years gimicks hit three basic categories: the trading card of the year, the violent thing of the year and the electronic/outrageous noise making thing of the year.

ChefWide said:those ages sound like a dangerous fit... LOL! My boys are all still single....

PFFT!!!!
My daughter wants everything she sees. My son is just happy to be alive and able to run up to you yell like a lion and run and play chase.

Yep. Give my kids a box and they are entertained for a week! The bigger the better.ChefWide said:LOL... i remember a few years back, my folks, the Lean Mean Spoilin' Machines, got an Imac for my oldest.. he was 7 at the time... nuts, I know, but the absolutely perfect response from him was...
"Wow, how cool! Thanks!"
He then walked right past the computer to make a fort out of the box and played there all afternoon, painted it, cut look-out holes, the whole nine.

LOL!!!ChefWide said:Grizzly, you got a plan right there!
I am going to market large colorfull cardboard boxes reinforced with kevlar honeycomb that can support the weight of stacking and climing in and can be folded the size of wallet for easy transport.... er... or not.
, Baby dolls galore, and her very first own camera so that she can explore her creative side a bit more.. Frisky said:well.. my two are simple.
They want everything! HEHE
Going to get my son a pocket bike (I think thats what they are called) bunches of trading card, another new football, few PS2 games..
My daughter wants this HUGE princess doll house, some new shiny red dorthy shoes for dress up, Baby dolls galore, and her very first own camera so that she can explore her creative side a bit more..
thats the start of the list.
ChefWide said:CAMERA!!!!
THATS IT!!!
Digital cameras for the boys. they will get all the pile of other goodies.. but they get one special thing from the old man every year... CAMERA!
I let them loose once in while with mine, and just love to see what their minds are composing. we have had some amazing results.... i need to find a shock resistant, maybe even nuke proof version though... little hands drop things, can't have them let loose the creative wind if they are all bound up worrying about dropping the thing...
WOW! great idea... tanks, Juicy.
