Post interesting wikipedia articles here

I am addicted to wikipedia, it's the site I spend/waste most of my time on. I like to read, even about stuff I have never heard of before.

So post some links to cool wikipedia articles here.

The articles must be in English (I can read German, too), interesting enough to hold the readers attention.

The best articles will cause the reader to find out more about the subject and click on related links.

They don't need to be 'featured' articles, obscure topics can often be interesting.

They don't need to be 'science' articles.

I will hand out karma for articles that I find interesting.

I agree academically it may not be facinating, but aspects of it, especially the 'pretexts for war' hold incredible relevance to what the ministry of defence is experiencing currently.

I learned in grad school that everything on that website is not 100% true, any ordinary joe can submit info on there and be at your finger tips thinking it is true.

most people copy and paste on there... most information on AAS is old and from the same sources you have been reading online for the last decade

While anyone can submit info and edit articles, there are STRICT wikipedia guidelines that must be met. Bibliography and sources are required (often they are links to newspapers/news sites). Articles that dont meet the guidelines are deleted or edited. Controversial articles require special privleges to edit.

Wikipedia is one of the greatest sites on the internet.
