I need some help picking a topic for my Grad School thesis topic. I am getting my master's in sport management and need a topic that relates to this field in any way. Something that is easily researchable. It would be great if anyone can throw out any good ideas. Thanks.

Sports Managment:

The Jock Strap. The most misunderstood item in Sport!
The Life and Times of a Volly Ball
Corporate Suck Up Doesn't Translate into Football Super Owner...The Daniel Snyder Story.
How much Ice is Too Much.
How to drop silent but deadly protien farts when Lesly Viser is Around.
Super Agent - Arliss Micheals.
Pam Oliver - I would...would You?

Thanks you dicks. Seriously, this is just to try and get some serious ideas. Sports management isn't just about dumb jocks in sport. It deals with the business aspect of sports. So don't think I am this dumb jock looking for an easy job when I am through. As a matter of fact I have a bachelors degree in Finance from one of the top business schools in the States.

Whew...touchy... It was just a joke bro...lay off the caffiene... :)

How about a nice paper on Salary Cap Issues.

For Intsance, teams that buy a championship season now and then go into the cellar due to cap money. Compare that one to a team that maintains a relative cap level then do a comparative analysis of the fan basis, and average annual attendance, etc over lets say ten years.

Wodin,
Thanks bro, didn't mean to sound touchy. Sometimes you just read people the wrong way. Thanks for the help bro, it's a good idea.

Athletes who cut their education short for a pro career.

Point shaving in college sports.

Corrupt local officials.

Illegal recruitment.

Athletes and their personal life and the legal consequences and traps they need to avoid.

Figure out what you'd like to do after graduation as a career, and make your thesis be all about that subject, so that your education and research turns you into a commercially marketable expert in your field and you can actually make some money off your thesis. Choose something you're passionate about and want to do for a long time.

Well, my first advice would be to talk to Belial. He posts on the training board a lot. He's only an undergrad (Duke), but he's a genius and is majoring in the field. Very dedicated. Unbelievable.

My ideas:

With the recent spate of deaths (Corey Stringer the only name that comes to mind, but there have been others), the pressure on these guys. Lack of safety concerns in training, etc. (Mcguire taking andro, etc.)

Race. There was an article about a year ago in Esquire about racial issues in sports. Fantastic! And then "Real Sports" with Bryant Gumble had a segment on white basketball players. Interesting....
