possible to overtrain while "ON"?

When juicing it will increase your intensity in the weight room - so overtraining maybe more of a concern.

When you gut's are on a milder cycle how many sets do you take to failure? all of them? just the last to complete failure & some forced reps? I would really like to hear some people's views and experiences with this.

personally, after warm ups - I load the weights up and go to complete failure every workout.

then get plenty of rest in between workouts.

hell yeah

I make my best gains with a 2on2 off split, my gains have been through the roof this cycle, so right now I took alonger than usual rest this week to allow my body a chance to recover and its back to my training split. After taking a week off I caome back stronger and ready to grow off my normal routine.

If you are making tremendous gains your body may try to slow down for a while. Give it some rest and you will be better off.

nautica you say that you go to failure every workout-are you saying every set or every exercise. I used to go to failure every set but I believe now that might have been overtrainig. I now do a warm up 2-3 sets to where the last one is real tought ot get up and the last set COMPLETE failure( w/ 2or 3 forced reps). please clarify as I'm am considering restructuring my workouts and am looking for advice and experience-thanks me2 , I totaly agree!!! I do a 2/1/2 split myself and rest is the key. sometimes I will just take 4-5 days off and my training partners start screaming pussy but yopur body recovers and you come back strong as hell. I believe most who do not know really underestimate the importance of a lot of rest and recovery

I think the reason a lot of guys use steriods, is that they over-train when natural (many don't eat right either, but that's another thread).

Then what a lot of guys do is they go ON, and proceed to train even MORE and therefore still have some issues with overtraining while ON as well.

I am starting to have a lot more respect for the Hardgainer methods, books like Braun, techniques like HIT, etc.

If you are not allowing ample time for full recovery and growth from youyr previous workout before working that same muscle again, you ARE lessening your gains. Do that too much and over time, and you will be overtraining.

I think that it is actually easier to overtrain because it makes me feel like I can train forever. I have to pull myself away from the gym sometimes.
