Portable food ideas...

Silent Method

New member
Alot of us here are college students. It can be a real hassle to get 6-8 quality meals in when your on the go all day. Lets come up with a list of foods and ideas for easy portability...

Of course, one obvious idea is to have cooler full of food that you either carry, leave in a gym locker, or leave in the car.

Premade sandwiches are simple. Whole wheat bread, beef, chicken, or tuna, cheese if your allowing it. Maybe some kind of "salad" sandwich? Any ideas?

Cook up a batch of steamed veggies and/or rice and seperate into portable containers.

A batch of rice, corn, asorted veggies, spices, and meat seperated into seprate containers.

Food bars are an option, "Balance" bars aren't bad.

I carry doses of protein powder in ziplocks. Just fill it up with water, seal, and shake. I get pretty wierd looks at drinking fountains when doing this, but fuck it, I'm bigger than everyone else! Hahahaha!

And of course, who could be seen without a water bottle in his hand, especialy when "on."

More ideas?

Good suggestions...

others that have worked for me...

Pop top tuna's, don't forget a utensil

Hard boiled eggs, make sure and pre peel them, or it will end up taking about 30 minutes to eat!! haha

Shaker cup filled up with a meal replacement powder and some wheat germ, add water....done

Cold scrambled egg whites, and oatmeal mixed together, not the best tasting, but then again you don't eat for taste

Cold egg white and oat pancakes with some blueberries....very quick and very good.

Cold scrambled egg whites and oatmeal mixed together? Blah! But I'm willing to try it.

Whats your "egg white and oat pancake with blueberry" recipie?

Good Idea if your looking for something low carb is to take some Turkey or your lunch meat of choice (Deli meat, not the processed kinds) and roll it up in a spinach leaf with some spicy mustard rolled in with it.

The easiest for me is definately the meal replacement in water bottle. Just take it to the water fountain fill er up and shake. Beef Jerkey is also good.

Oatmeal/egg white pancakes are great. I think a similar post has been on here before. Use about 5 - 7 egg whites, a 1/2 cup or so of oats(finely chopped in blender for better texture), a handful of blueberries and a spoonful of either ff plain yogurt or ff cottage cheese to get it to blend together. Cook them up like pancakes. Fridge them, pack them, can bring some sugar free syrup if you want a real treat. They are outstanding. But then again, I don't eat real pancakes, so I may be missing out! haha jk....later

I take this out with me a lot.

1.5c Cottage cheese (1%)
1/2c Oatmeal
a few sprinkles of raisons
6-7 packets of Splenda or Equal
few sprinkles of cinannim

Mix everything togther, and and take it with you in one of those 1lb cottage cheese containers. Taste like desert
:p

better substitution for the oatmeal in the cottage cheese- fiber one cereal...more crunchy less cals, more fiber. 6-7 splenda's shit! You must have a real sweet tooth. Also for an even better treat add some peanuts.

Yeah, once in a while I'll use 1/2c Fiber One instead of the oatmeal.......and yes, I do have one have one hell of a sweet tooth :p

me too:p
check out this oatmeal I've been eating.

3/4 cups dry
add water just to cover it
put in microwave for a minute or longer till you get it the consistancy you like less time more watery, more time less watery- you get it.
now add 2 tbsp of raisens
1/4 cup of fiber 1 cereal
1/4 cup of skim milk
sweeten with however much Splenda you like (JG1)
add a couple dashes of cinnamon
I use Lean Body MRP's -Chocolate, I use a scoop that I got out of my Hydra Fuel dextrose container to take 2 scoops out of the Lean body powder. There are 42grams in a packet, and there are 5 scoops in a packet so 2 scoops gives you and extra 16.8 grams of protein and makes it taste so damn good creamy and chocolately.
So add those 2 scoops and BAM...kicked up chocolate oatmeal raisen breaky.

Here's the good part if you put it in the frig it hardens up like pudding. You can take it with you or what ever- it's good anyway

It tastes pretty good. It's better if it's warm though. I add cinammon and Equal to mine. Their not too shappy that way, and you can even eat them for breakfast during contest prep:D
Now if your bulking, you can add some scoops of all natural peanut butter:D :D Thats twice as good

You put your dry protein into a ziploc bag???? Man, I'd be giving you a weird look, too... and I'm on your side! Go to the milk section of the grocery store and buy a couple of 16oz bottles of milk. Once they've been emptied you can put your protein into them and when you're ready to drink it take it to the water fountain. You won't look nearly as goofy and it will probably be a lot less messy. Good luck.

Money ass panckes
