Saddam could strike first, but doing so (considering he has nothing) would prove him a liar and just validate taking him out. However, he's a madman so who knows what he'd do.

I know he won't surrender. He's going to go down fighting.

Maybe he'll do both. Planned preemptive strikes that will begin when the first bomb goes off....making it look like (to those that would argue) that the USA started it.

I just hope for whatever reason Saddam doesn't try to launch anything at Israel. They've made it clear they will retaliate with expreme prejudice. I don't think the USA can keep Israel from doing that this go around. We managed last time with promises that we'd protect them in the last Gulf War.

Nobody is really sure if he has the capabilities to strike Israel again...even if he does it certainly wont equal the magnitude of the Gulf War attacks.

Israel is more capable of defending its soil from missle attack than we in the US are. Those patriot missle centers are still operational, and Israel essentially has every aircraft in our airforce, both old and modern. Israeli citizens are required to undergo basic training in the millitary, as well. I'd say Israel is ready for just about anything it can handle.
