Please Help. Possible infection??

Ok.. I injected HCG on saturday. a few hours later it was sore and got more and more sore as the day went on. It got kind of hard. The next day it was not red but still very sore and kinda of hard. I thought it was getting better. It dose not hurt like the past few days, just minor. I just looked at it and its red ( about 3-4 fist sizes on my glute and going downpart of my leg) and it is slightly raised and hard. i can tell its more hard in the place I injected. This was my 4th shot og hcg and this is the only problem. AM i infected?

Mmmmm, a little warm and it's only been about 48 hours. The heat is your body's response to fighting an infection (if one exists). If is was steaming hot....I would be a little more worried. I'd give it another day or two to judge what happens. We have all given ourself bad shots before. Trust me....it won't be the last time.

Meanwhile, try massaging the area (to increase circulation) and if swollen apply ice pack or cold wet cloth. It's difficult to "mess-up" HCG shots to the point of a problem since it can be injected both IM and SubQ. Hope this helps Sweed!

wasnt an infection anyway, but I thought it was a good line.

They'll probably give you an antibiotic - keflex or something.

thanks. i did forget to wipe the vial with alcohol when i fill up a syringe, but i threw out that needle, so i wiped it down and then used a new needle. thats the only thing i can think of that could have been a problem , but i used a new needle?

had a bump on my left glute that would not go away, was not an abcess couldn't see a thing above the skin. the doc gave me cephulaxen which i think is generic for wat ua iron said. i just told the doc who was a sports doc that i injected new what i was doing and this was the first time this happened. i got a lecture and a ny times article about kids that died thats it. the file said i had pain in my glute thats it.

Im in the same boat mate I done a quad injection Sust on Satuday. Hurt like a bitch.
Two days later the area is swollen but not locally like an abcess, it is red as well and still hurts when I bend my leg.
I think its just my quad reacting to is first jab. Baths help a lot, im gonna give it till thursday if its the same or worse I will go the docs.
Doesnt feel like an infection just a nasty Sust shot

These bad injections.... are they due to perhaps an injection into the bloodstream? I know your supposed to pull back on the plunger to see if your in a bloodvessel, but if you accidentally end up injecting into it, will you see symptoms similar to what sweed has described?

I would say you need to worry if your body temperature rises to the point of having a fever. I had a bad abcess once and my temp got up over 100, and you get aches and pains in your entire body like having the flu. Bad headache etc. Keep track of your temp.

I dont think it is an infection... this is usally localized redness around the injection site. How many ml did you inject? I would suggest putting a hot water bottle on the area while watching TV to increase your circulation and relieve the pain.

BTW: I have injected many times (maybe 20) with no alcohol whatsoever and never got an infection. And I use same needle to draw and inject.

Don't worry, Sus does that to me too. It's just your body reacting to the prop (or the gear as a whole).

i hope its not.. itrs still red on my ass and around my leg. its mostly hard and sore aroiund the injection site. If not gettin better by tomorrow, im going to go to the hospital after work tomorrow and get it checked, instead of going alllllll the way home to my old worn out family doc.
I tend to over react and think things like this will make my leg fall off... but i guess u gotta be cautious with this stufff

Thanks patbateman3 I have the same damn thing I gave myself 1 amp sust in my right thigh and here it is Tuesday and its I have the same exact symptoms as martin UK so I am feeling kinda relieved I did order some cephulaxen just in case. Seems more like a reaction than an abscess now that I look at it. Also I heard that when doing injections its best to wait until your rubbing alcohol or idiodine swab has dried completely over the site to be injected into as it allows for better sterility. don't know if anyone else has heard that either but something to note.

As long as guys have clean injection technique, than more often than not the injection will come from the gear itself. If the gear is bacteria-laden, like the old Brovel, then a standard injection will occur. Also, if the gear is not delivered properly into the muscle it is possible to receive an abcess as well, although more often than not it will become a sterile abcess (which can also happen with any good IM shot depending on how the body reacts to the gear). With a sterile abcess, I'm still trying to figure out how you would know if you had one.

But yeah, the prop does something CRAZY to my quad, it gets all red and is sore for days.
