huh? Not every middle class person is that way, BM.BIKINIMOM said:I have been living below poverty level since I kicked my ex out near 6 years ago.
And what is your point?
The middle class should be pissed. They bust their asses to get by and spend all of their money on frivolous bullshit trying to be people they are not, totally disastified with their lives, surrounding themselves with shit they dont need, ignoring their children all in an atempt to keep up with "the Joneses" <----- peeps that laugh at them as they chase their tails living paycheck to paycheck while their kids blow each other away at school.

I think that the middle class bears too much of the tax burden. I believe this is what Lou Dobbs may have meant, even though I didn't see the program.

I do however ignore my children. I would rather drive an expensive fast car than give to them ;p Kidding..I have no kids!
I'll tell ya, the lower middle class seem to fit this profile more. I do get your point though.
BIKINIMOM said:Finally they all wring their hands when those same kids grow up angry out of control teens with no respect for anyone or sense of resposibility. And the country wonders why our children are blowing each other away in school.
heatherrae said:Yeah, I see lots of that, too, BM.
I think lots of people from every tax bracket buy lots of stupid shit, sometimes even working crazy hours to get it at the expense of spending time with family.

No doubt. I doubt that anyone on their deathbeds says "Gee, I wish I would have bought more stuff." I sure do bet that lots wish they had a few more minutes with their family, though.BIKINIMOM said:It's amazing how much more important extra luxury items are than PRECIOUS TIME with one's family.

That is classic example of what I am talking about...
200K?!!!!
Before I kicked my ex out we had four children in five years, two homes (one was his condo that we kept as rental until it was trashed twice), a business that we started at the height of the recession and I stayed home with our kids until I returned VERY parttime to modeling (I didnt begin to generate an income doing that till just about the time I kicke him out so it actually COST us) when my baby was about 4 or so.
NEVER did we make that kind of money and we lived in NJ - a VERY VERY VERY expensive place to live.
My sister and BIL also did the same.
They have three small children that she stayed home with and they also run their business from their home. They vacation often, have lent me 75K for legal bullshit. She homeschools the kids with the exception of her 9 yr old that she is about to send abroad to boarding school.
Their income is nowhere near 100K and they also live in NJ.
HOW DID THE TWO OF US MANAGE THAT?

jnevin said:People are just dumb with their money in a lot of cases. Take $4,300 for a mortgage payment, $250 for insurance, $700 for taxes, $900 for an Escalade, $1,400 for the M5, $1,350 for the boat, and another $1,800 per month in minimum credit card payments. That's $10,700 per month without food and utilities. $200K after commission taxes (which I think is how most people would get that high, I rarely see people salaried at that) which are 41% leaves you with $118K per year. They're $10K over what they're bringing in. So, they pull money out of their house, pay their shit, get more cards to pay cards...
No worries though. A lot of them have up to $10K in a 401K!!

don't we see this crap day in and day out? I am working on a loan right now where the borrowers make about $250k a year, are paying out about $17K a month and want to refinance to lower their monthly installment debt cause they can't control their spending habits. The problem is that in a year from now, they will have a $250k mortgage balance and once again have $80-$100k in credit card and automobile debt. WTF?
jnevin said:Put them on an option ARM if they have assets. They're slumming it in a $250K house with that income.

FEISTY11975 said:ahh hell...I am doing them an 80/10 so they have no MI...and cutting their term from 30 years down to 15. I think I am actually helping them out a lot but they have to cut up the damn cards. This is ridiculous. Yet they still have 780 credit scores.![]()
jnevin said:An option to 90% with TAMI through Countrywide will pay you 3.5 on the back with no MI and a minimum payment rate of 3.625%.
jnevin said:They'll be late on it in 10 months.
