I'm trying to build muscle quickly but I also need to lose weight. I'm 27, 242 lbs, 5'10".
I've been working out seriously for about 13 months. I was 280 lbs. a year ago. My goal is 200. Just wanted to see if anyone has input on this diet.

taking oxy-elite, CLA. Prior to workout I use Jack3d and Hemavol.
Current diet:
Meal 1: 45g whey protein, glycomaize, glutamine
cardio (35 min intervals on elliptical, 4x week)
Meal 2: 2 whole eggs, 4 egg whites, 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1 orange
Meal 3: 6oz chicken, 10oz brocolli, 2 rice cakes
Meal 4: 45g whey protein, BCAA, glutamine(30 min before lifting)
Meal 5 : 50g whey, glycomaize, BCAA, 5-htp (immediately after workout)
(1 hour after gym) 6 oz chicken, 4oz brown rice, 1 apple
(2 hour after gym) 1 cucumber, 3/4 cup oatmeal, 45g protein shake
Meal 6: 45g protein, 2 tbsp peanut butter, 2 rice cakes.

Five protein shakes per day is a little excessive, don't you think?

Chew more food. Three big whole food meals > two whole meals and five shakes

The thermic effect of whole protein will go a long way towards helping you reach your goals. You would make more gains in re way of lbm eating whole foods as well.

If I were you I would cut out the glycomaize in meal 1( you will only burn it for fuel, when you should be burning bodyfat!)

2 hours after the gym I would add an 8oz fillet steak, or maybe 8oz chicken,as long as its meat.

In meal 6 I would cut the peanut butter( maybe put it in with meal 3 instead?) and cut the rice cakes, you don't need those carbs before bed if you wanna burn fat. Make sure your last protein shake is casein for longer digestion.

Some omega 3-6-9 fats and a good mulivitamin/mineral complex would top off the diet:)
