played modern warfare 2 for first time this past weekend

Only thing I didn't like was how all the weapons were basically the same but with different sights.

Wasn't very much from my end. Very short game. Run and shoot. Never mind conserving ammo because guns laying all over the fucking place. Doing same damage and shit.

I prefer games like Red Orchestra Ost front & Darkest Hour; they're a bit dated (6-7 years old, UT2k4 engine) but it's 25v25 servers where you need to conserve ammo / grenades, no cross hairs (aim with iron sights) & generally 1-2 shot kills (no armour / health pack bollocks).

Quality ballistics (you need to anticipate moving targets, projectile trajectories dip, recoil etc)/ in-game physics taking in to account a slightly dated engine.

Should be dirt cheap on Steam.

Actually I played the Medal Of Honor Airborne game the other week and liked it better than MW2. More accurate and shit.

Yeah aside from the Javelin all the weapons felt like peashooters.

Dude RO is the shit. I played that game almost every day for almost 3 years straight. Every now and then I still play it. I was a beast with bolt actions and as a panzerfuhrer. Angled Panther tanks @ 10:45 and 1:15 are practically unstoppable. You also feel like a man getting 2 mile kills on Road to Orel (yes, 2 mile kills, although Road to Orel is a shit map other than that).

RO and Project Reality (a mod for Battlefield 2) are the 2 best first person shooters ever made. Fuck all this kiddie shit developers come out with every year. The only halfway decent shooter out these days is Bad Company 2 on hardcore mode, but that's still a far cry from RO and PR.
