There aren't a *lot* of extra perks... and if it were a straight $12.00 a month I might rethink it... but with all the deals you can get (free months that lower your overall cost per month, etc.) it brings the cost down to a level that is acceptable for me.

It's cool to support a site you frequent and receive lots of good information from.

And it's nice being part of the 'club'.
