Planning first cycle in more than 20 years

Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster.

I'm an old geezer (Columbu was Mr O when I first started working out) who has been out of the game for a while. I was very active in the early 80s and even entered a couple of shows. But towards the end of the decade wife, I mean life, just crept up on me and I sort of drifted out of the whole BBing lifestyle.

Fast forward to 2006 and I finally got my act together and joined a gym again. There is such a thing as muscle memory, even after so long time, and despite some setbacks due to injury I'm not unhappy about the progress I've made so far, but I've reached a point where I'd like to ramp it up a bit.

I've got plenty of Test E & C and from what I understand 500 mg/week for 10-12 weeks is a pretty standard beginners' cycle these days. What I'm interested in is whether somebody my age (48) will benefit from 200-250 mg/week or if anything under 500 is a waste?

I have no problem with 500/week, but I figure the lowest dose that will get the job done is the best dose. Not having any blood work done I still have to assume that my natural hormone levels are nowhere near what they used to be, so any additional test would be a significant boost...yes? No? Opinions?

I'm over 50 and am 5' 9", 265lbs, and about 10% B/F. I've been in the game since Arnold's day and have my pro card now for over 15 yrs. I have always believed do the minimum you need to get results. That's why I believe I'm still in the game. Although 250/wk is kind of on the low side for performance enhancement go ahead and start out with the 250/wk splitting it up in 2 doses a wk 125mg just to keep your levels even, like a Monday/Thursday type of schedule and see how you respond.

If you are getting good results at that level why go any higher until it stops working for you? Only up the dosage if you aren't getting results after about 6 wks. I see guys all of the time taking way too much and that's when you see the side effects. At doses of 500mg/wk or less, unless you are prone to gyno you should be fine w/o needing any kind of ancillaries but make sure you have them around just to be safe. Tits on a man are not an attractive feature to most, lol.

Thanks for your input ironman, sound like good advice right there. I never got gyno back in the day running mostly testoviron and primo and I'd never even heard of PCT. I have adex and clomid though (totally agree on the man boobs).
 
I would try less also. 250-350/wk is nice imo. It is mostly diet anyway. 350mg is one amp every 5th day. I feel ok shooting only once per week fwiw.

yep 250 every 5 days is a great way to go. Do that, you'll get plenty of results on that for a long time.
